A former wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills is accused of intentionally infecting a woman, and others, with an incurable STD, according to a new lawsuit. In the lawsuit, the woman says Eric Moulds kept quiet about having herpes during their monthslong romantic relationship in 2023. After they exchanged messages over Instagram in January 2023, Moulds offered her “an all-expenses paid trip” and flew her out to see him in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a complaint filed Dec. 10 in New York State Superior Court. They began a sexual relationship during this trip, the complaint says. Moulds, as a Buffalo Bills player from 1996 to 2005, played in the NFL’s Pro Bowl three times and has a football training facility in Charlotte, according to the Buffalo News, which first reported on the lawsuit. According to the complaint, the woman continued to visit Moulds, who paid for her flights, until November 2023, which was the last time they were intimate and had unprotected sex. Moulds never told her that he had herpes, the complaint says. Instead, his pregnant fiancée did when she contacted the woman in December 2023 and suggested that she get tested for STDs “because she, along with other women whom (Moulds) had relationships with, had been transmitted diseases by him,” according to the complaint. The woman, who didn’t know Moulds had been in a relationship with his fiancée for eight years, tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2 that month, the complaint says. The woman, of Erie County, New York, is suing Moulds, who lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on claims of negligence and for purposefully giving her an STD. Moulds hasn’t been officially served with the lawsuit as of Dec. 12, but is aware of it, according to his attorney Frank LoTempio III. “We are in the process of preparing a response and possibly a motion to dismiss,” LoTempio told McClatchy News via email on Dec. 12. “We will be fully defending this action against him.” Tried ‘to buy her silence’ According to the lawsuit, Moulds first reached out to the woman over Instagram in 2018 and they would occasionally message each other before reconnecting over the social media platform in January 2023. After her herpes diagnosis, the complaint says the woman learned Moulds “also engaged with multiple women besides (her) via social media.” He’s accused of targeting “single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York.” According to the complaint, Moulds used his “celebrity status” as an NFL star to meet women online and initiate sexual conversations before later offering “all-expenses-paid invitations to see him in person to convert the online relationship into (an) intimate sexual relationship.” The woman isn’t the first to similarly sue Moulds, the complaint says. Moulds is accused of giving other women herpes and paying them to drop lawsuits they filed against him, according to the complaint, which says he had them sign non-disclosure agreements. The woman suing him now says she hadn’t been intimate with anyone else throughout her relationship with Moulds. “In the wake of another potential lawsuit, (Moulds) offered money in an attempt to buy her silence,” the complaint says. The woman seeks an unspecified amount in damages with her lawsuit. The herpes simplex virus 2 can lead to recurring “painful blisters or ulcers” in the genital area, according to the World Health Organization. Though incurable, the disease’s symptoms can be treated. Most people who have herpes don’t experience symptoms or only have mild symptoms, the WHO says online. “(Moulds’) conduct was outrageous and extreme as it put his own sexual desires over (the woman’s) permanent health,” the complaint says.PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jalen Hurts may sit out a potential NFC East clincher against Dallas because of the lingering effects of a concussion . The Eagles could also just rest Hurts to play it safe -- even if he’s medically cleared ahead of Sunday’s game -- and protect their franchise QB from additional injury over the final two games. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni kept quiet this week on which QB will start Sunday, in large part, of course, because of the head injury suffered by Hurts in last week’s loss to Washington that forced him into the concussion protocol . The issue was complicated by backup Kenny Pickett’s rib injury suffered in relief of Hurts in his first real game competition in nearly a year. Tanner McKee, the third-string QB, could move into a backup role — or maybe even get the start against the Cowboys. Philadelphia’s starting quarterback situation has surged past Saquon Barkley’s chase at Eric Dickerson’s season rushing record as the most intriguing talking point in the final two games. The Eagles (12-3) appear certain to win the division title — they’re two games ahead of Washington (10-5) — and a No. 2 seed in the conference no matter the quarterback headed into the playoffs. Even with an unsettled QB spot, the Eagles are are still 71⁄2-point home favorites to beat division rival Dallas, per BetMGM Sportsbook. RELATED COVERAGE Dolphins are on the outside of AFC playoffs and need help and a win over Browns to have any chance Bills seek to shore up playoff positioning in hosting Jets team looking ahead to uncertain offseason Surging Rams host the eliminated Cardinals in the rematch of a rare blowout loss for Sean McVay Sirianni appreciated that quarterback depth has been a strength for the Eagles. “We feel good about that room,” he said. So why risk Hurts against the Cowboys? There’s little reason to make Hurts play only a week after absorbing a pair of blows to the head and the extra week off — maybe two if the finale against the Giants is truly meaningless — could add to his recovery time ahead of a home playoff game. The Eagles were burned in a similar situation last season when Hurts and star wide receiver A.J. Brown were both injured in the final game against the Giants with little at stake. With both players hampered by unnecessary injuries, the Eagles were dumped the next week by Tampa Bay in the NFC wild-card playoff game. The Eagles have options if Hurts is inactive. Pickett was 14 of 24 for 143 yards in relief, throwing a touchdown pass to Brown and an interception. Pickett, a first-round pick out of Pitt in 2022, went 14-10 as a starter for the Steelers before he was traded to the Eagles in the offseason. McKee was the Eagles’ 2023 sixth-round pick out of Stanford. The 6-foot-6, 231-pound quarterback has yet to take a snap in a regular-season game. He’s mostly used in practice on the scout team or in developmental periods — at best, he’ll stay late after practice to get some reps in with the top receivers. “Every week, every opportunity, it’s knowing it could be my shot, my chance,” McKee said. He could finally get that shot against Dallas. Rolling with Rush With the Cowboys out of playoff contention, the questions persist for coach Mike McCarthy about bypassing Cooper Rush for a look at Trey Lance before both QBs hit free agency. McCarthy’s answer hasn’t wavered: Rush gives Dallas the best chance to win. Rush is 4-3 since Dak Prescott’s season-ending hamstring tear after going 5-1 over two previous stints as an injury replacement. That’s 9-4 total. Half the losses came in both of Rush’s starts against Eagles – the last of five games filling in during the 2022 season and the first game this season. “The mindset is to win,” McCarthy said. “We’re going to Philadelphia to win the game.” Barkley watch Barkley leads the NFL with 1,838 yards rushing for the season through 15 games. He still needs two big outings in the final games of the season against Dallas and the New York Giants to top Dickerson and his 2,105 yards for the Los Angeles Rams in 1984. Barkley is 268 yards away from passing Dickerson for the season mark and 162 shy from becoming the ninth player in NFL history with 2,000 yards rushing in a season. He ran for only 66 yards in the first game this season against Dallas. Dallas ranks 28th in the NFL in rushing defense, surrendering 135.9 yards per contest. Philadelphia, behind Barkley’s stellar play, tops the league at 187.9 yards per game on the ground. The Eagles have already have set a team record for yards rushing in a season with 2,818, and they are within four rushing touchdowns of tying the club’s single-season mark of 32, set in 2022. Barkley needs four more rushing touchdowns to tie LeSean McCoy’s Eagles record, set in 2011 and just 33 yards from scrimmage to break McCoy’s mark of 2,146 set in 2013. Seeing double digits Star Dallas edge rusher Micah Parsons needs half a sack to reach double digits in each of his first four seasons despite missing four games with a high ankle sprain, the first injury absence of his career. The 2021 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year would be the fifth player to reach 10 sacks in each of his first four seasons. The other four — Claude Humphrey, Reggie White, Derrick Thomas and Dwight Freeney - are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. ___ AP Pro Football Writer Schuyler Dixon contributed from Arlington, Texas. ___ AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl2024 in pop culture: In a bruising year, we sought out fantasy, escapism — and cute little animals
Until recently, the Mount Washington Observatory had about 17 remote weather monitoring stations. At the end of a four-year expansion, it’ll have more than 50, said its executive director. Those expanded data points will help a variety of constituents across sectors spanning from climate science to outdoor recreation. The first leg of the expansion — which came in November in the form of five new automated stations along the Cog Railway on the west side of Mount Washington — paves the way to improved weather forecasts. “It’ll just make our ability to give accurate forecasts so very much enhanced,” said Drew Bush, the executive director of the observatory. “... When you look at storm tracks for our region, most storms are coming from the west, and our observation team on the summit of Mount Washington has been asking for this data for years.” These stations — with locations around Mount Washington and other spots in the White Mountains — collect data on temperature, precipitation, wind speed, relative humidity, and more, which is available to the public online. They’re part of the Mount Washington Regional Mesonet, which the observatory describes as “a network of automated stations in and around the White Mountains that continuously collect weather data.” This provides valuable information to researchers and meteorologists, including the National Weather Service. Stations vary, but the majority are tripods that stand about 10 feet tall, Bush said. Most are equipped with solar panels, due to their remote locations, though a few can plug directly into the electrical grid, he said. Sometimes snow can cover solar panels and cause delays, but if the stations have power, they transmit data in real time, Bush said. Federal money has facilitated this expansion, which will also include modernizing 11 existing stations, Bush said. One of those funding sources is a Northern Border Regional Commission Catalyst Grant. Other funds come from a request appropriated by Congress, an effort Bush said was spearheaded by U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. The enhanced forecasting abilities will help the observatory better inform hikers, skiers, and other visitors to the White Mountains of the weather conditions, Bush said. It will also assist search-and-rescue teams. “There’s, I think, just a huge amount of desire from the community to have this data,” Bush said. “... I think just from a very basic level, to try to really help people stay safe when they’re here as guests and visitors and they’re recreating outdoors.” People have observed the weather from Mount Washington for more than 150 years, according to a history of the observatory by its curator Dr. Peter Crane. Its extreme weather — which can feature sub-zero temperatures, snow, and strong winds — has attracted researchers and visitors to New England’s highest peak. The stations can pay a price for their observations, with the harsh weather sometimes damaging equipment. “Pretty much every year” they make repairs at stations or update their technology, Bush said. “It’s an iterative process,” Bush said, “so we’re always looking to improve them, to make sure that they can really survive the elements, you know, to make sure we have sort of the latest, most cutting-edge technology for them.” Part of the observatory’s role is developing technology for weather stations. As part of work with a professor who is a National Geographic Explorer, for instance, a piece of the observatory’s technology is on Mount Everest tracking wind speeds, Bush said. Closer to home, decades of weather observations make Mount Washington a valuable tool for viewing how Earth’s climate has changed in recent decades. Researchers, using data from sites across the White Mountains, have found warming air temperatures, wetter summers, an increase in heavy precipitation events, and a loss in snow, according to a fact sheet from the observatory and partners. This expansion will help establish a more comprehensive history of the White Mountains’ climate and a closer look at how it’s changing. “Looking forward into the future, it really allows us to establish this much more detailed record,” Bush said.
Wayne Rooney encourages I’m A Celeb viewers to vote for Coleen to do a trialIF THE New Saints qualify for the UEFA Conference League play-offs, it will be a Christmas miracle according to star stopper Connor Roberts. The Chirk-born keeper, who impressed again in the 2-0 defeat to Panathinaikos on UEFA Conference League matchday five, leaving an all-or-nothing clash with Celje in Slovenia next week. Roberts said that while he was disappointed with the defeat, it was one of the Saints’ best showings in their Euopean campaign and promised TNS will be on the front foot ahead of the festive period. “We’re going to need a Christmas miracle,” he said. We’re playing six days before Christmas and if we go through, it will 100 per cent be a Christmas miracle. “But we’re going there to win, regardless of whether qualification can or can’t be done and we want to get the three points. “We have to go for it next week and I think we will but I also think tonight was much different than previous games. “That was certainly a different performance to both Djurgarden and Shamrock Rovers for that matter. “We were trying to get after them that little bit more and if you look at the stats around the final third, it would have been better than those last two games. “It was a better performance than in Dublin where we scored. “A few things didn’t drop for us tonight and if you look at their goal, it’s a rebound. It’s fine margins in Europe with the penalty decisions or a tackle on Danny Davies. “You might think 2-0 is over but if it stays 1-0 they remain nervous and we can get back into it. “But it was really difficult after they scored the penalty.” Roberts admitted that TNS still having a chance to qualify, albeit slim, does exceed expectations for a club of their size in European competition. But he felt that his teammates competed with European regulars again this season. “There is a huge difference between two and three and to keep Fiorentina to 2-0 and these to 2-0 is huge,” he said. “Whereas 3-0 sounds like a walloping so keeping them to two is massive. “I was disappointed with the goals tonight – I was fuming after the first one which slipped under my arm when he poked it. “I couldn’t tell you where Josh Daniels came from for that one in the second half but the lad could have gone over because I half-kicked him. “If you get after teams from their goal kicks, they’re not going to play through you but at times tonight, in their build-up, I thought they were fantastic. “But we had to be more oppressive at times to nick the ball to get that goal. “I love that I’m from the town and that I did work experience at the club 16 or 17 years ago. “I don’t think people realise my roots with the club outside of the town and I’m just really proud to give my best for them.”
Graduates of the Cambridge Shelter Corporation are getting a chance to make an income this winter, thanks to a program that just expanded. The social enterprise called In Our Backyard launched in May 2023. They’ve added winter services this year, giving more chances for the men staying at the shelter or shelter graduates to work. The community can hire them for things like junk removal, litter collection, winter pruning and some holiday decorating. They’re also making partnerships with local landscape companies to help provide snow removal and train the men on new skills. Executive Director of the Cambridge Shelter, known as The Bridges, Wayne Paddick, said they are trying to change the narrative around men experiencing homelessness. “These guys do want to work, they’re not part of what some people would stigmatize them as being lazy. For the most part, most of the guys here want to get out and be productive – this program has allowed that.” Paddick added that it’s all in an effort to try and keep them working over the winter. The idea to expand into the winter came after they saw the success of the program in the summer that helped employ over 40 men who graduated from the shelter previously. “It’s a safe environment for them to go back to work as opposed to going to an employer they don’t know who isn’t as understanding about their needs, about appointments, about some of the struggles they’ve had,” said Paddick. They hope to keep expanding the program further over the next few years, creating more meaningful partnerships to create more work. “We have struck a new relationship with Ontario Works, they are going to provide some funding for training for the guys so they can go off and get some specialized training so that when spring and summer comes, they have more skills to add,” Paddick added. “A lot of them want to comeback and give back and it’s a safe job for them to start with.” Paddick is hopeful for a second truck next year and more partnerships with landscape companies. The shelter in Cambridge is also looking for donations from the community as it gets colder out. They’re in need of winter clothing, toiletries and hand warmers. Paddick mentioned they will take donations for women as well, who sometimes pop in to find hats or gloves as To hire them for winter services this year, the community can check out theFormer KFDA Anchor and Texas House Member Ralph Wayne Passes Away at 92 in Austin

The New York Giants valiantly battled the playoff-hopeful Indianapolis Colts — and eliminated them from postseason contention in 45-33 fashion. But in doing so, they potentially took themselves out of pole position for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Regardless, Drew Lock enjoyed a career game, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for another. Giants fans' mixed emotions aside, it was an impressive showing from Lock, who earned a 75.0 PFF overall grade after first reviews. The five-part docuseries, produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex , is set to premiere on December 10, as announced on Wednesday. The eagerly-awaited show, named POLO, tracks polo players "on and off the field as they compete in the high-stakes US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida", according to Netflix. The streaming giant revealed: "Through fierce rivalries and intense training, viewers will get an unprecedented glimpse into the dedication and skill required to compete at the sport's highest level." It's no secret that the Duke of Sussex, 40, has been a polo player for years and is a big fan of the equestrian sport. "From a young player pushed to his limits by his demanding father, to a former golfer who's made significant sacrifices for the love of the sport, to the father-son duo widely regarded as the greatest players of all time - they all face intense personal and professional challenges as they vie for the coveted title," Netflix elaborated. This latest update follows Netflix's announcement of the documentary series on X in September. The statement read: "POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport. From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures." Archewell Productions, the company owned by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is set to release a new show as part of their multi-year deal with Netflix, signed in 2020. Meghan will also be hosting her own non-fiction series, celebrating "the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship". Netflix has already given fans a sneak peek of the documentary with four still images, including a shot of three polo players on horseback and two competitors sprinting with mallets after the ball. While Harry and Meghan may make brief appearances, the focus won't be on them. Back in April, it was revealed that Harry had signed a deal with Netflix to produce a documentary series about the intriguing sport of polo. The series promises to "provide viewers unprecedented access to the world of professional polo," according to a statement released at the time. "Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level," it read. Harry's friend and fellow polo player, Ignacio 'Nacho' Figueras, is working closely with the Duke on the show. Discussing the upcoming polo-themed project with People, he shared: "Prince Harry and I have talked about polo for years. The production company is incredible, and Netflix has a huge platform to reach the biggest hearts in the world. I am happy to be involved and think this is a great opportunity for the sport."

Pep Guardiola has insisted Erling Haaland alone is not responsible for Manchester City’s dramatic collapse in form this season. The Premier League champions, on a unprecedented run of four successive English titles, saw their campaign go from bad to worse with a 2-1 loss at Aston Villa on Saturday - their ninth defeat in 12 matches in all competitions. The reverse also marked previously prolific striker Haaland’s fifth game without a goal in six matches. After the game, the Norway international told TNT Sports: “First I’m looking at myself. I haven’t been scoring my chances. I have to do better, I haven’t been good enough.” City manager Guardiola subsequently defended Haaland, who has scored 108 times for the club since joining in 2022 by saying that “without him we will be even worse” and that “he needs to be delivered the right balls in the right spots”. Guardiola stuck to his theme on Tuesday during a pre-match press conference ahead of Thursday’s Boxing Day match at home to Everton. “It’s about us, not just one player,” he said. “When in the past we score goals and Erling was so prolific, helping us, it was because of the team. “And when you have problems at the back, in the middle, it is for everyone, it is a team, it is not about one player. It would be easy, if it was just one player, the reason why. It’s not about that.” The Catalan boss added: “Erling is so important for us, will be so important for us, has been. (We have to) try to do things better, to use him better. In this situation, this tendency for all of us (is to say) ‘the reason why is this one, and this one and this one’. It’s about us, about everyone. “The guys are running, making effort more than ever. All the tendency ‘it’s because we don’t run, because we don’t fight, the reason why is this situation or this player or this manager’... It’s not about that. “It’s many little details or big details that make all together not as good as we were. But we have another opportunity on Boxing Day.” Related Story EAA signs pacts to empower youth in Qatar, Palestine Monoprix launches sensory friendly hours at Doha Festival City outletThe way-too-early Matildas Women's Asian Cup 2026 Big BoardPHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jalen Hurts may sit out a potential NFC East clincher against Dallas because of the lingering effects of a concussion. The Eagles could also just rest Hurts to play it safe — even if he’s medically cleared ahead of Sunday’s game — and protect their franchise QB from additional injury over the final two games. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni kept quiet this week on which QB will start Sunday, in large part, of course, because of the head injury suffered by Hurts in last week’s loss to Washington that forced him into the concussion protocol. Even with an unsettled QB spot, the Eagles are are still 7 1/2-point home favorites to beat division rival Dallas, per BetMGM Sportsbook. Sirianni appreciated that quarterback depth has been a strength for the Eagles. Winnipeg Jets Game Days On Winnipeg Jets game days, hockey writers Mike McIntyre and Ken Wiebe send news, notes and quotes from the morning skate, as well as injury updates and lineup decisions. The other four — Claude Humphrey, Reggie White, Derrick Thomas and Dwight Freeney – are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. ___ AP Pro Football Writer Schuyler Dixon contributed from Arlington, Texas. ___ AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl Advertisement Advertisement
