AP News Summary at 6:33 p.m. ESTAussie's whinge about new rules for Victorian landlords spectacularly backfires: 'Wow'Insurgents' stunning march across Syria gained speed on Saturday with news that they had reached the suburbs of the capital and with the government forced to deny rumors that President Bashar Assad had fled the country. The rebels' moves around Damascus, reported by an opposition war monitor and a rebel commander, came after the Syrian army withdrew from much of southern part of the country, leaving more areas, including two provincial capitals, under the control of opposition fighters. Download the CTV News App for breaking news alerts and video on all the top stories The advances in the past week were among the largest in recent years by opposition factions, led by a group that has its origins in al-Qaida and is considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the United Nations. As they have advanced, the insurgents, led by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group, or HTS, have met little resistance from the Syrian army. The UN’s special envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, on Saturday called for urgent talks in Geneva to ensure an “orderly political transition.” Speaking to reporters at the annual Doha Forum in Qatar, he said the situation in Syria was changing by the minute. In Damascus, people rushed to stock up on supplies. Thousands rushed the Syria border with Lebanon, trying to leave the country. Many shops in the capital were shuttered, a resident told The Associated Press, and those that remained open ran out of staples such as sugar. Some shops were selling items at three times the normal price. “The situation is very strange. We are not used to that,” the resident said, insisting on anonymity, fearing retributions. “People are worried whether there will be a battle (in Damascus) or not.” It was the first time that opposition forces reach the outskirts of Damascus since 2018, when Syrian troops recaptured the area following a yearslong siege. Assad's status Amid the developments, Syria’s state media denied rumors flooding social media that Assad has left the country, saying he is performing his duties in Damascus. Follow the CTV News channel on WhatsApp Assad's chief international backer, Russia, is busy with its war in Ukraine, and Lebanon’s powerful Hezbollah, which at one point sent thousands of fighters to shore up his forces, has been weakened by a yearlong conflict with Israel. Iran, meanwhile, has seen its proxies across the region degraded by regular Israeli airstrikes. Pedersen said a date for the talks in Geneva on the implementation of U.N. Resolution 2254 would be announced later. The resolution, adopted in 2015, called for a Syrian-led political process, starting with the establishment of a transitional governing body, followed by the drafting of a new constitution and ending with U.N.-supervised elections. The insurgents' march Rami Abdurrahman, who heads the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, said insurgents were in the Damascus suburbs of Maadamiyah, Jaramana and Daraya. Opposition fighters were also marching from eastern Syria toward the Damascus suburb of Harasta, he added. A commander with the insurgents, Hassan Abdul-Ghani, posted on the Telegram messaging app that opposition forces had begun the “final stage” of their offensive by encircling Damascus. Syria’s military, meanwhile, sent large numbers of reinforcements to defend the key central city of Homs, Syria’s third largest, as insurgents approached its outskirts. The shock offensive began Nov. 27, during which gunmen captured the northern city of Aleppo, Syria’s largest, and the central city of Hama, the country’s fourth largest city. HTS leader Abu Mohammed al-Golani told CNN in an interview Thursday from Syria that the aim is to overthrow Assad’s government. The Britain-based Observatory said Syrian troops have withdrawn from much of the two southern provinces and are sending reinforcements to Homs, where a battle is looming. If the insurgents capture Homs, they would cut the link between Damascus, Assad’s seat of power, and the coastal region where the president enjoys wide support. The Syrian army said in a statement Saturday that it has carried out redeployment and repositioning in Sweida and Daraa after its checkpoints came under attack by “terrorists.” The army said it is setting up a “strong and coherent defensive and security belt in the area,” apparently to defend Damascus from the south. The Syrian government has referred to opposition gunmen as terrorists since conflict broke out in March 2011. After the fall of the cities of Daraa and Sweida early Saturday, Syrian government forces remained in control of five provincial capitals — Damascus, Homs and Quneitra, as well as Latakia and Tartus on the Mediterranean coast. Tartus is home to the only Russian naval base outside the former Soviet Union while Latakia is home to a major Russian air base. Diplomacy in Doha In the gas-rich nation of Qatar, the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey met to discuss the situation in Syria. Turkey is a main backer of the rebels. Qatar's top diplomat, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, criticized Assad for failing to take advantage of the lull in fighting in recent years to address the country’s underlying problems. “Assad didn’t seize this opportunity to start engaging and restoring his relationship with his people,” he said. Complete coverage of conflicts in the Mideast Sheikh Mohammed said he was surprised by how quickly the rebels have advanced and said there is a real threat to Syria’s “territorial integrity.” He said the war could “damage and destroy what is left if there is no sense of urgency” to start a political process. After the fall of the cities of Daraa and Sweida early Saturday, Syrian government forces remained in control of five provincial capitals — Damascus, Homs and Quneitra, as well as Latakia and Tartus on the Mediterranean coast. On Friday, U.S.-backed fighters of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces captured wide parts of the eastern province of Deir el-Zour that borders Iraq as well as the provincial capital that carries the same name. The capture of areas in Deir el-Zour is a blow to Iran’s influence in the region as the area is the gateway to the corridor linking the Mediterranean to Iran, a supply line for Iran-backed fighters, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah. With the capture of a main border crossing with Iraq by the SDF and after opposition fighters took control of the Naseeb border crossing to Jordan in southern Syria, the Syrian government's only gateway to the outside world is the Masnaa border crossing with Lebanon. Karam reported from London. Associated Press writers Albert Aji in Damascus, Syria and Qassim Abdul-Zahra in Baghdad contributed to this report.555bmw slot login

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jalen Hurts is still in the NFL's concussion protocol, forcing the Philadelphia Eagles to play against Dallas without their star quarterback. The Eagles will turn to backup Kenny Pickett on Sunday because Hurts is still dealing with the lingering effects of a concussion suffered against Washington. Hurts was injured early at Washington after his head slammed against the ground on one run and he was hit in the helmet by Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu at the end of another. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said the Eagles would lean on the medical staff on a daily basis to know where Hurts — who threw two touchdown passes and ran for a pair of scores in the first meeting against Dallas in November — was in his recovery from the head injury. The 26-year-old Hurts did not practice this week, leaving Pickett — who suffered a rib injury in relief action against the Commanders — in line for his first start as an Eagle. Pickett was 14 of 24 for 143 yards against the Commanders, throwing a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown and an interception. Pickett is from New Jersey and said when he was acquired from Pittsburgh that he had “great memories” of going to games at Lincoln Financial Field with his dad and grandfather since he was 5. The chance to run out of the home team tunnel — which he could get Sunday if he’s the starting QB — left him absolutely delighted. “It's a big opportunity,” Pickett said this week. “I've been working hard to stay ready. I felt like I was in a good position last game with my preparation. Now, having a week to practice, I'll feel even better going into the stadium.” Pickett, a first-round pick out of Pitt in 2022, went 14-10 as a starter for the Steelers. The Eagles will bump third-stringer Tanner McKee to the backup spot. The Eagles also signed QB Ian Book this week to the practice squad. There has been recent precedent for quarterbacks to play a week after entering the league’s concussion protocol. Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence sustained a head injury while scrambling up the middle on the team’s final drive in Week 15 loss to Baltimore last season. Lawrence misfired on seven of his final eight passes after the hit, a stretch that raised concerns on the sideline about his health. Lawrence reported symptoms after the game. He entered the protocol but was cleared in time to start the next game at Tampa Bay. The Eagles (12-3) could decide to play it safe and rest Hurts with the team needing a win against Dallas or the New York Giants to clinch the NFC East and the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Hurts shook off a sluggish start over the first four games and has thrown 18 touchdowns against just five interceptions to turn the Eagles into Super Bowl contenders. Thanks in large part to the tush push, Hurts has 14 rushing touchdowns this season. The Eagles won the Super Bowl for the 2017 season behind backup QB Nick Foles when starter Carson Wentz went down with a late-season injury. AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/NFLNone

Vor Biopharma Inc. VOR shares are trading higher on Friday after the company announced it has entered into a securities purchase agreement for a private investment in public equity financing (PIPE). What To Know: The company expects to generate about $55.6 million in gross proceeds from the PIPE. Vor plans to utilize these proceeds in order to fund clinical and preclinical development of its pipeline candidates and for general corporate purposes. As part of the PIPE, Vor will issue a total of 55,871,260 shares of common stock and accompanying warrants to purchase an additional 69,839,075 shares, priced at $0.99425 per share and warrants. If exercised for cash, the warrants would result in additional gross proceeds to Vor of up to approximately $58.5 million. The PIPE was led by Reid Hoffman who believes in the potential of Vor’s trem-cel therapy to treat acute myeloid leukemia. The therapy utilizes CRISPR/cas9 to modify the bone marrow of patients. “Early data released by Vor suggest a potent effect, which now must be confirmed by future trials. I am delighted to support this company that uses a game-changing technology that will hopefully impact the lives of patients with this lethal cancer – but even more the trajectory of cancer therapy in general,” said Hoffman. Today, however, the stars encourage you to approach this situation with prudence. While your innate leadership skills and ambition push you toward immediate action, it would be wise to focus on planning and strategizing instead of making large expenditures. Use this time to assess the project’s long-term feasibility and consider alternative ways to advance it without overextending yourself. This day also calls for reflection on your leadership style. Are you inspiring others to follow your vision, or are you pushing too hard? Balance is key. Step back, review your resources, and allow your team to contribute their strengths. By cultivating patience today, you can avoid unnecessary stress and ensure that your project builds on a solid foundation, leading to greater rewards in the future. 2 (Those born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, or 29th of any month are ruled by the Numerology number 2) Emotional outbursts are likely today, especially if you’ve been feeling restricted or misunderstood in personal or professional matters. Instead, channel these emotions into constructive outlets like journaling, meditating, or having calm, heartfelt conversations with those you trust. You may find yourself reviewing your life choices and feeling a tinge of self-criticism. Instead of allowing this introspection to turn into a negative spiral, use it as an opportunity to identify areas where you may be holding yourself back. Reflect on whether self-doubt or over-analysis is stopping you from taking bold steps forward. Today’s energy encourages a balance between practicality and self-compassion. Set small, achievable goals rather than overwhelming yourself with grand expectations. This is also a great time to evaluate habits and routines—are they helping you grow or limiting your potential? Trust that your disciplined and hardworking nature will eventually bring the results you desire. Take a moment to appreciate your progress so far. With a clearer perspective and self-kindness, you can move forward with renewed purpose and confidence. 5 (Those born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd of any month are ruled by the Numerology number 5) Your dynamic energy and natural charisma are in full swing today, making this an excellent time to step out and connect with others. Whether it’s pitching an idea, networking, or simply socializing, you’ll find that people are drawn to your enthusiasm and optimism. If you’re working on a project, take advantage of this supportive energy to gain backing or feedback. Your adaptability and sharp mind make you a problem solver, so trust your instincts when unexpected challenges arise. Today’s vibrations also favor travel or exploring new opportunities—whether physical or intellectual. However, remember not to spread yourself too thin. While your curiosity drives you, focusing on one task at a time will yield better results. Use your inherent charm to inspire others to join your journey. Keep an open mind and maintain a positive attitude, as this day has the potential to open new doors for your ambitions. 6 (Those born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th of any month are ruled by the Numerology number 6) Today, you’ll find yourself more open to understanding perspectives that typically challenge your own. This willingness to engage with opposing viewpoints not only enriches your understanding but also fosters mutual respect in your interactions. People who may have seemed like adversaries could surprise you with valuable insights, so listen carefully. Your natural nurturing energy is heightened, making this a good day for strengthening relationships—be it with family, friends, or colleagues. On a personal note, romance could play a prominent role. If single, you may encounter someone who sparks your interest in an exciting, though possibly fleeting, way. If attached, your bond may deepen through meaningful conversations. Balance is key today—don’t let your empathy lead to overcommitting yourself to others’ problems. By maintaining healthy boundaries, you’ll ensure that your giving nature benefits both you and those around you. Let love and harmony guide your actions. 7 (Those born on the 7th, 16th, or 25th of any month are ruled by the Numerology number 7) Today calls for introspection and decluttering—both physically and mentally. You may feel an urge to clean up your surroundings, remove outdated items, and create a space that fosters positive energy and clarity. This process mirrors your inner need to eliminate mental clutter. If you've been feeling overwhelmed by unresolved thoughts or emotions, this is the perfect day to meditate or journal to gain insight. Reflect on your recent experiences to understand patterns and lessons. The energy of the day supports spiritual growth, so consider engaging in activities that deepen your sense of purpose, such as reading philosophical texts or connecting with nature. Avoid distractions and superficial conversations; instead, focus on meaningful interactions or solo time. By creating space in your mind and environment, you pave the way for fresh ideas and a renewed sense of calm. Trust your intuition as it will guide you toward clarity and peace. 8 (Those born on the 8th, 17th, or 26th of any month are ruled by the Numerology number 8) Today, your communication skills are sharp, and you come across as articulate and persuasive. This is an excellent time to share your thoughts and ideas in public settings or important meetings. Your ability to present yourself with confidence and authority will leave a lasting impression. Take advantage of this energy to address critical issues or negotiate agreements. The practical and ambitious vibrations of the day align with your natural ability to manifest material success. However, balance your professional pursuits with a moment of self-reflection. Are your goals aligned with your values? While ambition is your driving force, ensure that you’re not neglecting emotional or spiritual growth in the process. Trust in your disciplined approach but remain open to feedback. By combining clear communication with a mindful attitude, you can strengthen relationships and make significant progress in achieving your goals. 9 (Those born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th of any month are ruled by the Numerology number 9) Creativity and inspiration flow freely for you today, particularly if you’re involved in artistic or mentally stimulating pursuits. Your mind is buzzing with innovative ideas, so make time to brainstorm or collaborate with like-minded individuals. Sharing your thoughts with a trusted friend or mentor can help refine these ideas and bring them closer to reality. You may feel a strong urge to give back or support a cause, as the humanitarian aspect of your number is amplified. Channel this energy by volunteering, mentoring, or simply offering a listening ear to someone in need. Keep in mind that your heightened emotional energy might make you more sensitive to criticism. Instead of letting it discourage you, use it as fuel to enhance your work or ideas. Trust your vision and know that your efforts, whether creative or altruistic, have the potential to make a significant impact. Dunbar football rolls to state semifinals with 36-0 win over FallstonCAIRO: Zionist forces stormed into Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya in north Gaza on Friday and expelled some staff and displaced people before withdrawing, and bodies of people killed by airstrikes littered the streets outside, its director said. The attack had begun with a series of airstrikes on the western and northern sides of Kamal Adwan accompanied by intensive shooting, hospital director Hussam Abu Safiya said, speaking via an online chatroom monitored by Reuters. He said troops who swept into the hospital ordered all staff, patients and displaced people into its courtyard before allowing them hours later to return inside, though some staff including its Indonesian emergency surgery team and some displaced were ordered to leave the premises for good. Zionist military did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It has accused Hamas militants of using civilian buildings including hospitals and schools for operational cover throughout the 14-month Gaza war. Hamas has denied this, accusing Zionists of indiscriminate bombings and assaults. Kamal Adwan Hospital has been caught in renewed Zionist military operations in north Gaza against regrouping militants. “This morning, we were shocked to see hundreds of bodies and wounded individuals in the streets surrounding the hospital,” Abu Safiya said in another statement posted online. “The situation inside the hospital and in its vicinity is catastrophic. There are a large number of (dead) martyrs and wounded individuals, and no surgeons are left,” he said. Reuters could not independently authenticate his account, given a lack of media access to besieged Gaza Strip. Gaza’s Health Ministry said the three main hospitals on the northern end of the enclave are barely functioning and have been under repeated attack since Zionists sent tanks into Beit Lahiya and nearby Beit Hanoun and Jabalia in October. Later on, a Zionist airstrike on a house in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip killed at least 18 people, including three children and two women, and wounded 30 other people, medics said. They added that military strikes across the enclave killed at least 53 Palestinians, most of them in northern Gaza. Distress call In a distress call on Friday, the ministry accused the military of committing a “war crime” in Kamal Adwan Hospital by perpetrating “all forms of killing and violence inside and around it”. It added: “The injured who remained inside are in critical condition and need immediate medical care.” The ministry said only half of the 37 hospitals and clinics in the war-devastated territory remained operational but lacked essential equipment, manpower, and medical and fuel supplies. The World Health Organization said Zionist forces had bombed Kamal Adwan Hospital early on Thursday apparently without warning its staff in advance. “That is extremely concerning and should never happen,” WHO spokesperson Rik Peeperkorn told a Geneva briefing by video link. The hospital is now “minimally functional”, he added. Military says it has killed hundreds of militants in fighting with Hamas in north Gaza since October, a heavily urbanized area it claimed to have subdued early this year. On Friday, it said that over the past week its forces had killed several senior Hamas operatives who were involved in the Oct. 7, 2023, cross-border attack that precipitated the war, and were commanding militant units in north and central Gaza. Hamas and its smaller ally Islamic Jihad say they have killed many soldiers in those areas in the same period. Residents of Beit Lahiya said the army blew up several houses overnight not far from Kamal Adwan Hospital. Palestinians say Zionists plan to carve out a buffer zone along the northern fringes of Gaza after depopulating the area. Later on Friday, COGAT, the Zionist government body that oversees aid to Gaza, said it had facilitated the delivery of thousands of food packages and sacks of flour into Beit Hanoun, in collaboration with international aid agencies, for distribution to the remaining population. Double standards Meanwhile, a UN official on Saturday said international double standards have encouraged the Zionist authorities to perpetrate genocides in Gaza, calling for continuous efforts to lay bare the occupation violations. Francesca Albanese, the UN rapporteur for human rights in the occupied territories, was speaking in remarks to KUNA after she addressed a session of heads of the diplomatic missions at the UN headquarters in Vienna. The colonialism mentality continues to largely affect the international policies leading to clear discrimination in applying the international law, she said. The Palestinians have the legitimate right to defend themselves against the continuous aggression; it is a right guaranteed by the international Laws that also guarantee peoples’ right in resisting the occupation, said Albanese. She slammed the double rhetoric of western states that claim support for the Palestinians’ rights and the two states solution but neglect crimes perpetrated by the occupation and supplies the occupied with weapons, which is in turn an explicit encouragement for these crimes. Zionist occupation exploits impunity to act like it is above the international laws, she said, alluding to the genocide in Gaza where the Palestinians have been deprived of water, food and health care. Moreover, the civilians there have been directly targeted and 70 percent of the victims are women and children. Talking about political solutions is senseless in the shadow of the continuing occupation and the war on Gaza, Albanese said, stressing that ending the occupation must be the first step on the path for making any real progress. ‘Genocidal’ Zionists A senior Saudi royal termed Zionist entity “genocidal” and an “apartheid” state on Saturday, as he called on incoming US President-elect Donald Trump to bring peace to the Middle East. Prince Turki Al Faisal, who was Saudi Arabia’s intelligence chief for more than two decades, also said he hoped Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC). His comments at the Manama Dialogue conference in Bahrain follow increasingly tough statements from Saudi officials since talks were paused on a potential normalization of ties with Zionists after the start of the Gaza war. “(Zionist entity) today, according to international human rights groups, is not only an apartheid colonial state, but it is also a genocidal one,” Prince Turki said. “It is committing genocide on the people of Gaza.” He added: “It’s about time for the world to... take the necessary steps to bring those who are charged by the International Criminal Court to justice.” The ICC issued warrants for Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant last month on suspicion of crimes against humanity and war crimes. Saudi’s de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also accused Zionists of genocide at a joint Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in Riyadh last month.- AFP

Visitors stand at the booth of the video game 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle' during the media ... [+] day at the Gamescom video games trade fair in Cologne, western Germany on August 21, 2024. According to organisers, around 1400 exhibitors from 64 countries will be presenting their products during the fair running until August 25, 2024. (Photo by Ina FASSBENDER / AFP) (Photo by INA FASSBENDER/AFP via Getty Images) Indiana Jones And The Great Circle has proven to be a big hit to round out 2024. Critics love the globetrotting story and fans enjoy the first person immersive feel of being Indiana Jones. The reception is breathing new life to the franchise after fears that the underperformance of Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny would bury the character for good. While there are some great games to play in Dr. Jones’s video game history (it’s never a bad time to start a new game of Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis), I’ve collected a list of tabletop games to keep the pulp adventure going after the credits roll. These games are also a great way to pass the time until Indiana Jones And The Great Circle coms out for those readers who have a Playstation 5. For even more options, don’t forget to check out the list of pulp role playing games I put together when the game was first announced. Outgunned Adventure Outgunned Adventure found 3,490 backers and has put out digital copies of its core rules and Action Flicks expansion. The company recently announced a deal with Free League Publishing to help get this excellent game into local game stores. It looks to fulfill physical copies to backers in 2025 before going on sale to the general public. The design combines two of my favorite works from the designers: the pulpy race against rivals from Broken Compass and the refined, smooth blockbuster movie mechanics of Outgunned. This tie, the game is planted squarely in a world inspired by movies like The Mummy and Raiders Of The Lost Ark. It’s the early 20th century, supernatural treasures are real and the only thing between them and the forces of evil are a table full of weary heroes. This game is great for groups who want to try role playing games outside of Dungeons & Dragons. It’s easy to make characters and the dice mechanics are quick to pick up. The Action Flicks expansion adds more choices to the base game as well as genre modifications for things like Mad Max style vehicles and Jurassic Park style dinosaurs. Samsung’s Android 15 Leak—Bad News For Nearly All Galaxy Owners Dark Web Facial ID Farm Warning—Hackers Build Identity Fraud Database Tesla CEO Elon Musk Issues U.S. Bankruptcy Warning Amid Calls For A Bitcoin-Inspired ‘Fix’ Fireball Island Restoration Games got a lot of love from me this year with articles featuring their reboots of classic games like Crossbows And Catapults and Thunder Road: Vendetta . My first experience with them was their take on Fireball Island . This game combines the chaos of pinball with the scene where Indiana Jones is chased by a boulder. Players hunt for treasure around a tropical island while an angry volcano god shoots marbles at the pieces trying to knock players down. The new version adds new objectives, equipment cards and even different kinds of marbles to represent new hazards like swarms of bees. Expansions give players new locations to explore, treasures to find and dangers to dare. This game is a great choice to play with kids. The rolling fireballs add a very random element but the new version of the rules keep people in the game longer. For a more immersive experience, check out the app for sound effects and a timer. Lost Ruins Of Arnak Lost Ruins Of Arnak offers a slightly more chill experience than Fireball Island. Players are each leading expeditions through the jungle to find the city. There are several paths to take and there’s more to consider than just finding the place; you’ve got balance exploration, building up a good expedition team and documenting your experiences to get the most points to win the game. While less chaotic, Lost Ruins Of Arnak remains a competitive experience. Players have to know ehn to shift strategies and the best times to cut off a rival to slow their progress. Gameplay creates some great moments where players will shake their fists at each other as if they just made a death defying escape. Lost Ruins Of Arnak was a big hit with hardcore board game fans. But it’s easy enough to pick up with anyone, though the more you play, the bigger the strategies become. Expansions add more ways to customize the experience to the game. Eldritch Horror The Cthulhu Mythos has always contained a dash of pulp adventure as part of its recipe. H.P. Lovecraft wrote for the magazines that give pulp its genre name so he mixed up his New England horror stories with ancient Egypt and lost artifacts from ancient eras. Eldritch Horror pits players against one of the Great Old Ones in a worldwide hunt for cursed tomes, cult temples and unspeakable monsters. This game zooms out the exploratory mechanics from Arkham Horror into a game that sends players around the world rther than Lovecraft Country. It also refines game play elements further with expansions offering more in depth story beats and machanical options. Large expansions include new Old Ones and storylines, such as Masks of Nyarlathotep based on the classic Call of Cthulhu campaign. This title leans into the horror genre but appeals to fans of spooky stories and adventure. The great artwork and graphic design is immersive. The cooperative nature also means everyone wins or loses as a team. Fortune And Glory All of these games owe a debt to Indiana Jones seeking timeless treasures around the world. Fortune And Glory wears its heart on its sleeve by giving player the chance to dash out of crumbling temples with treasures tucked under their arms, fight their way out of thrilling cliffhangers at the end of their turn and a chance to throw Nazi Villains out of zeppelins full of gold. The recently revised edition tightens up the game after years of being played around the world. The large expansions offer new villains and new ways to play. Fortune And Glory can be played competitively but I’ve found its best enjoyed when everyone at the table can cooperate and make sure their treasures end up in a museum. Indiana Jones And The Great Circle shows that there’s still a lot of fun in the idea of raiding ancient temples for fabulous treaures. The games mentioned here are available directly from their publishers, through online retailers and at yout Friendly Local Game Store.
