Russian police raided several bars and nightclubs across Moscow on Saturday as part of the government’s crackdown on “LGBTQ+ propaganda,” state media reported. Smartphones, laptops and video cameras were seized, while clubgoers had their documents inspected by officers, Russia’s Tass news agency said, citing sources in law enforcement. The raids come exactly a year since Russia’s Supreme Court ruled that the "LGBTQ+ movement should be banned as an “extremist organization." Its decision followed a decadeslong crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights in Russia, where President Vladimir Putin has touted "traditional family values” as a cornerstone of his quarter-century in power. Footage shared on social media appeared to show police ordering partygoers to lie on the floor as officers moved through Moscow’s Arma nightclub. The capital’s Mono bar was also targeted, Russian media reported. In a post on Telegram on Saturday, the club’s management didn't directly reference an incident with law enforcement, but wrote, "Friends, we’re so sorry that what happened, happened. They didn’t find anything forbidden. We live in such times, but life must go on." Police also detained the head of the “Men Travel” tour agency Saturday under anti-LGBT laws, Tass reported. The news agency said that the 48-year-old was suspected of preparing a trip for “the supporters of nontraditional sexual values” to visit Egypt over Russia’s New Year's holidays. The raids mirror the concerns of Russian activists who warned that Moscow’s designation of the “LGBTQ+ movement” as “extremist” — despite it not being an official entity — could see Russian authorities crack down at will on groups or individuals. Other recent laws have also served to put pressure on those that the Russian government believes aren't in line with the country’s "traditional values." On November 23, Putin signed into law a bill banning the adoption of Russian children by citizens of countries where gender-affirming care is legal. The Kremlin leader also approved legislation that outlaws the spread of material that encourages people not to have children.Smart motorways will be switched off from today as part of major updatePortland, OR November 25, 2024 --( PR.com )-- Renowned aesthetic physician Dr. Anil Rajani announces a groundbreaking advancement in at-home skincare: the PlasmaGLO LED Gua Sha Suite, the first comprehensive system to include doctor-led training and certification. Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon told Fox News that creating satirical content is becoming more difficult in a world where true news stories read like parody. The conservative satire outlet the Babylon Bee is calling out X’s rival platform Bluesky for repeatedly censoring its posts and arbitrarily labeling them "intolerance." Babylon Bee editor-in-chief Kyle Mann told Fox News Digital that Bluesky’s decision to censor their content is a "chilling reminder" of what the social media landscape would look like if Elon Musk had not bought Twitter. The Babylon Bee was suspended from Twitter in 2022 for posting a satirical article calling Adm. Rachel Levine, a Biden administration Cabinet member and a transgender woman, the "man of the year." Twitter flagged the post as violating its rules regarding "hateful conduct" and suspended the Babylon Bee’s account until they deleted their tweet, which the outlet refused to do. The Babylon Bee’s account remained suspended by Twitter until Musk reinstated it after he gained control . (Samuel Corum/Getty Images) Now, two years later, the Babylon Bee is facing a similar dilemma on Bluesky, which was created by Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey and is widely seen as a direct competitor to X. Bluesky has a similar layout to X but operates on an "authenticated transfer protocol" that creators say allows users more control over what content they access than platforms that operate on a single algorithm. Bluesky’s website states that "our online experience doesn’t have to depend on billionaires unilaterally making decisions over what we see" and "on an open social network like Bluesky, you can shape your experience for yourself." The platform has seen a significant increase in users in the last several weeks , with 8 million people, many of whom are former X users, joining since Election Day. There are currently 22 million users on Bluesky, which is still considerably lower than X’s user base of over 500 million. ‘PATHETIC’: TOP 10 MEDIA MELTDOWNS FOLLOWING TRUMP'S ELECTION WIN, FROM ON-AIR TEARS TO CLAIMS OF ‘MISOGYNY’ This illustration photograph taken on Nov. 12, 2024, shows the logo of social media platform Bluesky displayed on a mobile telephone and tablet, in Paris. (Ian Langsdon/AFP via Getty Images) The Babylon Bee made its first post on Bluesky on Nov. 18. It posted the same Rachel Levine article that had gotten them suspended in 2022. The post was quickly flagged and hidden by Bluesky’s moderation service, which labeled it "intolerance." Users can still see the post by clicking past the intolerance label. The satire site’s creators have now tried reposting the article four times, with each attempt having a similar result. According to Bluesky’s community guidelines, the platform bans "gender identity-based harassment" and anything "promoting hate or extremist conduct that targets people or groups based on their race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation." Rachel Levine "Summer of Pride" (Screenshot: HHS/Instagram) Mann, however, said that "it's ironic that the platform championing tolerance and freedom from Musk's influence is itself so intolerant of differing views." CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP He explained that the outlet "thought it was only fitting to debut the Bee's account on Bluesky with the article that famously got us banned from Twitter" and that the result highlights the need for Musk’s prioritization of free speech on X. "Bluesky's censorship policies are eerily reminiscent of the status quo on Twitter before Elon Musk took over," he said. "It's chilling to think about what freedom of speech might look like right now in the United States if Musk hadn't stepped up and freed us from the Twitter tyrants." Pep Guardiola has warned that he will walk away from Manchester City if he doesn’t feel the love. The City boss is in the biggest crisis of his glittering managerial career and has just signed a two-year contract extension at the Etihad. Guardiola made it clear that he believes he can lift the four-in-a-row champions out of a slump that saw them lose five successive games before throwing away a three-goal Champions League lead against Feyenoord in midweek. City travel to Liverpool knowing that defeat at Anfield will leave them 11 points behind Arne Slot ’s runaway leaders. And Guardiola suggested that if he could quit a Barcelona team that included Lionel Messi , Xavi and Andres Iniesta then he would not hesitate to make the same decision in Manchester. Guardiola said: “I was in Barcelona. I would say my club, where I was born. I was there for four years, 14 titles. I had Messi, the best player ever. Neymar was coming - and I said ‘I’m leaving'. “People asked ‘why are you leaving your hometown with this generational player and with Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, all the players that changed the world , won World Cups and European Cups?’ “I left because I felt it - and here is the same. If I extend, it’s because I feel it. I'm not sitting here just for what I've done. “Still I'm happy, still I want to try. But I don't want to stay in the place where I feel I'm a problem. I don't want to just because the contract is there. My chairman knows it. I asked him to give me the chance to try to come back - especially when everybody comes back (from injury) and you see what happens. “It would have been easy for me to go while we were doing well, but I don't want to now. I had the feeling that I still have a job to do and I want to do it. I want to do it.” Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Three points would see the Cottagers leapfrog their London counterparts in the table as Silva's side bid to bounce back from last weekend's shock home thrashing at the hands of Wolves . And the Fulham boss wants Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi, all Gunners academy graduates, to make themselves heroes, stating: "I haven't spoken with Emile, Reiss or with Alex about this situation. "However, probably their feeling is going to be different about the game. The reaction towards them from the Tottenham fans is also probably going to be different than with me or Kenny Tete or Issa Diop. "If it can give them a different level of motivation, then it would be good for us. They are in Fulham now and they fight really hard for us. I know they are proud to be part of the club in this part of their careers." "If it can give them a different level of motivation, then it would be good for us. They are in Fulham now and they fight really hard for us. I know they are proud to be part of the club in this part of their careers." Ahead of the matchup, stubborn Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou boldly declared he is "not interested" in pragmatism after Tottenham threw away a late lead in their Europa League draw with Roma in midweek. Silva, however, revealed that while he has huge admiration for his opposite number, he had no choice but to evolve in order to make Fulham competitive again in the Premier League . The Portuguese said: "You adjust things, you are always trying to add things and in life, you can never stand still. "Yes, in some moments I know I like to play football and be on the front foot but sometimes it does depend on the opponent and whether the other team allows you to do it. "What I see from Ange is that you can always talk about the identity of the team. You can choose an idea but you have to convince the players. "I really respect him, I have my idea and identity and what I see from Tottenham is one clear idea from a very good manager and he goes with it until the end." Fulham will be without imperious centre-back Joachim Andersen this weekend after the Dane suffered a calf injury against Wolves. Harrison Reed, Jorge Cuenca and Ryan Sessegnon are also sidelined.
