Title: Here Comes Real Madrid! "Overlord" Secures 120 Million Superstar! £60 Million Striker Joins Winter ReinforcementThe Jal Shakti Ministry’s revised target to achieve full rural tap water coverage and sanitation by 2025 underscores both the scale of India’s progress and the challenges that remain. The ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin have brought transformative changes to rural India, providing access to clean water and sanitation. Currently, 15.37 crore rural households out of 19.36 crore have been equipped with tap water connections under JJM, leaving around four crore households yet to benefit. While 11 States and Union Territories boast 100% rural tap water coverage, larger and more populous states like Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Kerala, and West Bengal lag behind, with less than 60% coverage. Bridging this gap requires meticulous coordination, resource allocation, and robust implementation mechanisms. The sanitation story is equally commendable, with 95% of India’s villages now declared Open Defecation Free. This milestone proves the holistic approach of SBM-G, which goes beyond toilet construction to include solid and liquid waste management. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra have set benchmarks in achieving these standards, with Madhya Pradesh’s 49,000 “model” villages offering a roadmap for others. Yet, the remaining 5% of villages require targeted interventions to ensure no one is left behind in this sanitation revolution. Ecological restoration under the Namami Gange Programme adds another layer to the Ministry’s 2025 vision. The wetland conservation and afforestation efforts, signal a commendable commitment to restoring India’s riverine ecosystems. These ecological initiatives have also improved water quality, reinforcing the broader goals of JJM. India’s experience demonstrates that addressing basic needs like water and sanitation can catalyze social and economic transformation. However, the challenge lies in ensuring equitable access and sustainability. The next two years must focus on addressing regional disparities, strengthening grassroots participation, and leveraging technology to monitor progress. The Jal Shakti Ministry’s 2025 goals are not just about numbers; they represent a vision of healthier, empowered rural communities. Achieving these targets will require collective action and unwavering resolve, but the benefits will resonate for the coming generations.
Moving forward, it is imperative that authorities continue to crack down on the production and sale of counterfeit drugs and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. By taking decisive action against counterfeiters, we can help ensure the safety and well-being of the public and safeguard the integrity of the healthcare system.
It is important to note that the optical bonding phenomenon is not unique to the Apple Watch and can be observed in other devices that undergo the same manufacturing process. However, the sleek design and smooth finish of the Apple Watch make the effect particularly noticeable and intriguing to users. While some may find this interaction amusing or even useful in certain situations, it is ultimately a byproduct of the advanced technology and materials used in the creation of the device.

Online criminals have stolen $950,000 that was earmarked for the rehabilitation of public housing in Marin City, the Marin Housing Authority said. The money was part of $3 million the county loaned to the housing agency in March for the work at Golden Gate Village. “We are actively working to identify funding sources to replace what was lost,” said Kimberly Carroll, director of the Marin Housing Authority. Carroll vowed that the theft would not prevent the Marin City project from proceeding. “We won’t stop the forward process of our renovation,” Carroll said. “We can’t. That has to continue.” She also provided assurances that the breach would have no effect on the people living in apartments the authority oversees. “We want to assure our clients and stakeholders that no services will be impacted,” Carroll said, “and there will be no reduction in the funding or resources dedicated to our programs.” Jason Balderama, a county technology official, has started working as consultant for the housing authority to coordinate the investigation and advise on how to strengthen its internet defenses. Balderama has enlisted the assistance of the California Cybersecurity Integration Center and the federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, as well as submitting a report to the FBI. “It’s an ongoing investigation,” Balderama said. “They’re still trying to determine if they can pinpoint the exact root cause.” Carroll said investigators suspect the criminals used a “phishing” attack to gain access to several email accounts belonging to the agency’s employees, including hers. Phishing is an online scam in which attackers use emails, text messages or phone calls to trick people into revealing sensitive information such as their usernames and passwords. “It’s unfortunately a very common occurrence,” Balderama said. He said some of the housing agency’s email accounts were particularly vulnerable because they lacked “two-factor authentication,” a security procedure that combines two forms of identification to guard against unauthorized access. In addition to the typical username and password, it adds a second factor, sometimes a code sent via text message. Carroll said the scammers managed to gain access to six email accounts belonging to housing authority employees. Then, using the emails to pose as employees, they hijacked two large payments meant for Burbank Housing, the agency’s development partner for the Marin City project. Burbank is overseeing pre-development work for the project, determining what repairs need to be made to the 300 residences at Golden Gate Village. The housing authority has a $1.4 million contract with Burbank for the work. “The bad actors probably accessed our email accounts in July,” Carroll said. “But we didn’t find out until September.” Carroll said the $950,000 in payments to Burbank were dispatched in two large tranches. The first one went out in late August. “We sent it out to them,” she said. “We followed all of our protocols. We never heard from Burbank that they didn’t get the money until about three weeks later.” Carroll said Burbank notified the housing authority it hadn’t received the August payment on Sept. 16, about two or three days after the agency had dispatched the second tranche. “That was gone in a flash,” she said. Burbank Housing could not be reached for comment. Balderama said the odds are long that authorities will identify the thieves or recover the funds. He said the perpetrators might be based in the United States, or they could be located in any number of countries, including India, China and Russia. “It’s so easy to get private VPN service that the threat actors can make it look like they’re coming from basically anywhere,” Balderama said, referring to virtual private networks. A VPN shields its users from identification by encrypting their data and masking their internet protocol addresses. Carroll said the housing authority still has about $1.6 million left with which to move forward with the rehabilitation of Golden Gate Village. “We may have a conversation with the county to see if we would be able to borrow additional funds to help get us through if we need that,” Carrol said. Marin County Executive Derek Johnson, however, said there has been no discussion of the county shouldering any of the $950,000 loss. “Marin Housing Authority is assuming full responsibility and has committed to looking for alternative sources to recover the $950,000,” Johnson wrote in an email. “We anticipate MHA will be able to repay the $3 million loan as planned.” Earlier this month, following Johnson’s recommendation, the Board of Supervisors approved spending $500,000 for an organizational and operational assessment of the Marin Housing Authority, the Marin County Community Development Agency and the Marin County Department of Public Works. At the time, Johnson said he envisioned the county providing the housing authority assistance with finance, personnel and information technology. Both Johnson and Carroll said Monday that the plan for the assessment was formulated before the discovery of the $950,000 theft. “This breach underscores the need for the agency to undergo an organizational assessment to make sure it’s utilizing resources in the most efficient way, and also has the organizational structure, security, systems, and procedures in place to deliver high quality service and achieve its mission,” Johnson wrote. The crime was the largest theft of Marin public funds since Eric Faulks, a former county official, embezzled $1.9 million from the rental assistance program. Faulks pleaded guilty to four counts of grand theft and began serving a six-year prison sentence in November 2022. Since 2020, two Marin County Civil Grand Jury reports have examined the level of internet security preparedness in the county. The first came after the county experienced at least five hacks from July 2017 through August 2018. The fifth attack concluded with the hacker conning the county’s finance office into wiring $309,000 to the hacker’s bank accounts. The county managed to recover approximately $63,000. After the 2020 report, Marin County created what is now known as the Marin Security and Privacy Council (MSPC). Originally formed to provide internet security information and best practices to Marin’s municipalities, the council has been expanded to include nonprofits and other private organizations. The Marin Housing Authority became a MSPC member prior to the recent attack. “It is up to each MSPC member organization to use the information, best practices and recommendations as they see fit,” Balderama said. “Now that I am acting as a cybersecurity consultant for MHA, I am working with them to ensure that the resources and best practices shared through the MSPC are being actively implemented.” The second grand jury report was released earlier this year. Its recommendations include having the county hire three new employees to bolster internet security. The grand jury said two should be “system-engineering” positions responsible for conducting security risk assessments and implementing security solutions for public agencies.Reference is made to the stock exchange notices from IDEX Biometrics ASA on 13 November 2024 and 26 November 2024 regarding the subscription period (the “Subscription Period”), in the subsequent offering (the “Subsequent Offering”). Another key aspect of moving to Europe is the cultural and social adaptation that young players will undergo. Living in a different country and experiencing a different culture will broaden their horizons and help them become more well-rounded individuals. This exposure to different languages, lifestyles, and customs will not only help young Chinese players on the field but also off the field as they interact with people from diverse backgrounds.THUNDER BAY —Gloomy weather could not stop skiers from carving the slopes this weekend. Earlier this week, Environment Canada forecasted a mix of snow and rain for the region. These poor snow conditions have led to the closure of some local ski centres, but others have remained open. Jason Gerry, the general manager of Loch Lomond Ski Area, explained that the last two days of rain affected skiers’ morale more than anything. While they did have a short stretch of mild weather over the last four or five days, he said, prior to it, they had ’a really great window of snowmaking.’ This window, he described, lasted from December’s first week until about the 23rd, allowing them to make all the snow normally made in a year. “It’s actually been really great for us because the snowmaking was complete and then we had some nice warm weather and skier traffic has been really good for us so far this season,” said Gerry. Instead of being -250C, the area sometimes sees over the Christmas break, he said it’s hovering around 00C, making it ’a lot more comfortable.’ Gerry said they are also on a positive trend of skiers so far this year. “Last year was a pretty tough year for us because we actually didn’t really have any real snow until into January. So, we were lucky earlier this month when we had about 16 inches — I think we got of natural snow — and then it was followed up by some great snowmaking weather,” said Gerry. As a result, he explained the ski area was able to open all of its terrain before Christmas, including all North, Giant and Birch courses, as well as some of the runs around the back, which normally open later in the year because ‘they need natural snow to get going.’ Isla Freeburn was training with her ski team on the Pines — practising Slalom, a downhill race between shorter gates with shorter turns and faster down the Pine. She said she has been on the ski team for almost five years and has spent a lot of time at Loch Lomond. She agreed that the warm weather does worry her. “A little bit because, of course, you want snow as long as we can, so we want to preserve it,” said Freeburn. Freeburn said her team will have a Mealy in Sault Saint-Marie in two weeks, followed by a race at Loch Lomond and a final race for provincials in Ottawa. However, it doesn’t take much to keep the snow surface running and skiing great with the amount of snow, the rainwater getting absorbed and its modern grooming equipment, including Prinoth machines, added Gerry. “Some are fitted with winches so that we’re able to actually move snow uphill really efficiently, as well as grooming on steeper terrain so it allows us to be more consistent and more able to manage snow volumes and place it where we need it so that we continue to keep all of the ski slopes covered and like consistent thicknesses around the ski area,” said Gerry. The ski area has also reinvested in modern snowmaking equipment over recent years, with many purchased this summer. “The newest pieces that we have, have weather stations fully built into them. They’re fully automated, so they allow you to make snow in marginal temperatures and conditions. They’ll turn themselves on and off. They’ll rotate with winds and weather patterns,” said Gerry. He explained that the equipment has made their capacity to make snow much better by harnessing technology, so it’s always optimized. Gerry said they see that there is real value and benefit in continuing to reinvest in this equipment. “As we look at our winters changing a little bit and having some of this more cyclical, freeze-thaw cycles, we’re looking at continuing to invest in that machinery in order to manage that and keep the conditions running great,” said Gerry.
