bimabet slot Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni apologized to Washington tight end Zach Ertz for his comments during a heated exchange following the Commanders' victory on Sunday, according to multiple reports. The player and coach were seen meeting for the routine postgame handshake, with Ertz instead offering a high-five to Sirianni, who was his head coach during the start of the 2021 season in Philadelphia. Instead, the two had to be separated by Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro, who then escorted Sirianni to a tunnel at Northwest Stadium, according to reports. Sirianni didn't like the intensity of Ertz's high-five and criticized his performance in the game, to which Ertz took exception, according to a report released Thursday morning on the "Uncovering the Birds" podcast with Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Ertz, who was listed as questionable for the game after sustaining a concussion a week earlier in Washington's 20-19 victory at New Orleans, started on Sunday and had one catch on two targets for 12 yards as the Commanders won 36-33. Asked afterward about the incident, Sirianni told reporters: "Both of us said ‘congrats' to each other." Ertz, likewise, downplayed the meeting, telling an Inquirer reporter: "We just exchanged holiday pleasantries and kept it moving." Sirianni, who according to reports later apologized to Ertz over a Zoom call, met with media members on Thursday. He said that he keeps conversations with players private and that he has respect for Ertz. During the week leading up to the NFC Division contest, Sirianni said of Ertz: "I think, first and foremost, Zach is an all-time Eagle and was really honored to be around him, and he's still playing at a high level in this part of his career. "So, going through that and him moving on, us moving on in the organization, him getting another fresh start, that was always a tough one because I did really come to really value Zach Ertz the person, Zach Ertz the player. Enjoyed the time I had around him." The Eagles traded Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 15, 2021, during Sirianni's first season as head coach and with the Philadelphia organization. Philadelphia selected Ertz in the second round (35th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He has 764 career receptions for 7,972 yards and 50 touchdowns in 166 regular-season games (128 starts) for the Eagles (2013-21), Cardinals (2021-23) and Commanders. Washington signed Ertz, 34, as a free agent in March. The three-time Pro Bowl selection (2017-19) has started all 15 games for the Commanders and has 55 receptions for 538 yards and four touchdowns. --Field Level MediaA new way of treating serious asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) attacks could be a “game-changer” and is the first leap in treatment for 50 years, researchers say. Offering patients an injection is more effective than the current care of steroid tablets and cuts the need for further treatment by 30%, according to a study. Benralizumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets specific white blood cells, called eosinophils, to reduce lung inflammation. It is currently used as a repeat treatment for severe asthma at a low dose, but a new clinical trial has found that a higher single dose can be very effective if injected at the time of a flare-up. The findings, published in the Lancet Respiratory Medicine, included 158 people who needed medical attention in A&E for their asthma or COPD attack (COPD is a group of lung conditions that cause breathing difficulties). Patients were given a quick blood test to see what type of attack they were having, with those suffering an “eosinophilic exacerbation” involving eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) being suitable for treatment. Around 50% of asthma attacks are eosinophilic exacerbations, as are 30% of COPD ones, according to the scientists. The clinical trial, led by King’s College London and carried out at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, saw patients randomly split into three groups. One group received the benralizumab injection and dummy tablets, another received standard care (prednisolone steroids 30mg daily for five days) and a dummy injection, and the third group received both the benralizumab injection and steroids. After 28 days, respiratory symptoms of cough, wheeze, breathlessness and sputum were found to be better in people on benralizumab. And after 90 days, there were four times fewer people in the benralizumab group who failed treatment compared with those receiving steroids. Treatment with the benralizumab injection also took longer to fail, meaning fewer visits to a GP or hospital for patients, researchers said. Furthermore, people also reported a better quality of life on the new regime. Scientists at King’s said steroids can have severe side-effects such as increasing the risk of diabetes and osteoporosis, meaning switching to benralizumab could provide huge benefits. Lead investigator Professor Mona Bafadhel, from King’s, said: “This could be a game-changer for people with asthma and COPD. “Treatment for asthma and COPD exacerbations have not changed in 50 years, despite causing 3.8 million deaths worldwide a year combined. “Benralizumab is a safe and effective drug already used to manage severe asthma. “We’ve used the drug in a different way – at the point of an exacerbation – to show that it’s more effective than steroid tablets, which is the only treatment currently available.” Researchers said benralizumab could also potentially be administered safely at home or in a GP practice, as well as in A&E. First author Dr Sanjay Ramakrishnan, clinical senior lecturer at the University of Western Australia, said: “Our study shows massive promise for asthma and COPD treatment. “COPD is the third leading cause of death worldwide but treatment for the condition is stuck in the 20th century. “We need to provide these patients with life-saving options before their time runs out.” Dr Samantha Walker, director of research and innovation at Asthma and Lung UK, welcomed the findings but said: “It’s appalling that this is the first new treatment for those suffering from asthma and COPD attacks in 50 years, indicating how desperately underfunded lung health research is.” AstraZeneca provided the drug for the study and funded the research, but had no input into trial design, delivery, analysis or interpretation.A chef who is passionate about limiting food waste is urging people to plan for "random meals" this Christmas. Elly Curshen, known online as Elly Pear, is a cook, columnist and producer who became aware of this issue when running The Pear Café in Bristol between 2006 to 2018. She said the key to Christmas cooking was organisation and encouraged people to audit their kitchen - just like a business owner would. "Do a stock take," she said. "Try and work out some kind of fridge and freezer raid meals and clear out space for leftovers." She added: "Get yourself organised and make a list of things you can make with the things you've already got." The author, who has written three cook books, told BBC Radio Bristol the second tip was always having good quality eggs and bread in the house. "Plan for those days between Christmas and New Year," she said. "Plan for some random meals but if you've got eggs and you've got nice bread the world is your oyster." Ms Curshen's RolloverLeftovers series on Instagram led to her nomination as a finalist for this year's Digital Creator Award at The BBC Food & Farming Awards. She said: "I didn't win but it was absolutely amazing to be nominated. "My passion for leftovers and using stuff up in a creative way - I get so much inspiration from what needs to be used up – I guess it stems from the café. "When you have a small business, everything you bring in you have to maximise the profit that's going out so every bit of waste is money, and that's how it started." Ms Curshen started the series on Instagram to share what she was making at home. "I would literally share online, make a reel every single day, edit and share it every day on my own," she said. "I showed how the cooking I made at home flowed from one day to the next." The cookbook author, who now writes for BBC Food and Waitrose Weekend, said ultimately everything can me made into a frittata. "Everything can be used again," she said. "Even things I think are really basic ideas are worth sharing." Follow BBC Bristol on Facebook , X and Instagram . Send your story ideas to us on email or via WhatsApp on 0800 313 4630 .

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Spencer Knight made 20 saves, Mackie Samoskevich scored with less than a second left in the second period, and the Florida Panthers got four goals in the third to beat the Carolina Hurricanes 6-0 on Saturday and complete a two-day sweep. Aleksander Barkov, Sam Bennett, Aaron Ekblad, Evan Rodrigues and Adam Boqvist also scored for Florida, which won 6-3 at Carolina on Friday. The Panthers have won three straight — that streak following a stretch of six losses in seven games for the Stanley Cup champions. It was Knight's fourth career shutout, his first since Nov. 9, 2022 — also at home against Carolina. Spencer Martin made 23 saves on 28 shots for the Hurricanes, who have dropped four of their last six games (2-3-1). It was Martin's fourth consecutive start for Carolina. Hurricanes: This was the first time all season that the Hurricanes failed to get a point in the game immediately following a loss. Carolina was 4-0-1 after a defeat entering Saturday. Panthers: A big day for Samoskevich — his alma mater Michigan beat Ohio State in football on Saturday, that game ending just before the Florida-Carolina game started. The Panthers are 5-0-0 when he scores this season. Sam Reinhart had each of the four most recent Florida goals at 19:59, before Samoskevich got his Saturday. The Panthers scored two goals 11 seconds apart in the third to make it 5-0, and Yaniv Perets replaced Martin in the Hurricanes' net with 8:12 remaining. It was the second NHL appearance for Perets, who came on once in relief for Carolina last season. Ekblad's goal was his first in a span of 1,045 regular-season shifts since Feb. 20. Carolina starts a two-game homestand Tuesday against Seattle. Florida goes to Pittsburgh to start a two-game trip on Tuesday. AP NHL: https://www.apnews.com/hub/NHL
