It is for this reason that we should not be quick to criticise the loss of human interaction, human touch and empathy when introducing AI into our healthcare system. Innovations like Missi also reduce caregiving burnout and compassion fatigue by alleviating nurses’ workloads, particularly menial tasks. The aid of AI is greater in geriatric care, where nurses cannot always monitor the elderly patients’ safety and well-being. Integrating AI into healthcare inspires young people like me to actively contribute to AI advances in healthcare one day.
