Sutton Foster and Ana Gasteyer are holding space for the weird “Wicked” memes. The “Wicked” press tour has been full of viral moments but none more so than when an Out reporter told Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande that fans have been “taking the lyrics of ‘Defying Gravity’ and really holding space with that and feeling power in that.” The journalist’s observation elicited an emotional response from Erivo as Grande reached over to comfort her, taking hold of just one of her fingers. The moment quickly spread on social media — even making its way to Broadway. On Sunday, Foster, Gasteyer and their “Once Upon a Mattress” co-star Michael Urie recreated the moment in a hilarious TikTok. “I don’t know if you heard this, but people have been taking the lyrics of ‘Shy’ and really holding space with them,” Urie, 44, told the two women backstage, referencing one of the show’s big musical numbers. The “Saturday Night Live” alum, 57, then turned to Foster, 49, and asked, “Will you pull my finger?” As Foster grabbed her hand, Gasteyer made a farting sound, prompting the three to burst into laughter. “Holding space for all the shy girls today,” the comedian captioned her TikTok. Gasteyer notably played Elphaba in the 2005 Chicago production of “Wicked.” She reprised her role one year later on Broadway, replacing Eden Espinosa. The original interview was posted on X last week, garnering over 60 million impressions in just four days. While some people responded with confusion, others embraced the phrase “holding space,” jokingly using it in unrelated instances. Grande and Erivo — who play Glinda and Elphaba, respectively — have yet to comment on the viral moment. The Jon M. Chu film also features Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, Peter Dinklage and Michelle Yeoh. However, we’re told the early stages of development looked a lot different. Last week, sources familiar with the project told Page Six that “The Crown” director Stephen Daldry was originally slated to head the film before things fell through. We’re told Daldry wanted Lady Gaga to play the lead and the pair even met a few times to flesh things out. Shawn Mendes was also in talks to star as Fiyero in the film, which ultimately went to Bailey. While Daldry was announced as the movie’s director in 2016, he exited the project four years later, opening the door for Chu. Everything seemingly worked out in the end as “Wicked” dominated the box office and scored rave reviews following its Nov. 22 release — with both Erivo and Grande in Oscars talks. However, fans will have to wait until Nov. 21, 2025, for part two.Lear Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend
Extra Innings podcast: Analyzing the start to the Mariners’ offseasonGurgaon: By 2026, the city's water supply network will be brought under centralised control as part of Centralised Integrated Water Management System (CIWMS). The project, approved in 2018, uses advanced technology to monitor underground pipelines and ensure an efficient supply. The metropolitan authority will integrate three major water lines as part of phase 3 of the project — from Chandu Budhera Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to Sector 5, from the Chandu Budhera WTP to Sector 51 boosting station, and from the Sector 51 boosting station to Sector 42. Together, this phase will cover 405 underground water tanks across the city to streamline the water supply. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 26.8 crore, is expected to be completed within 12 months once the work is allotted to an agency. GMDA has started the tendering process for it. This will help in minimising wastage of potable water and ensure water reaches every household. While the work on phase-2 will start soon, we have invited bids for phase-3. Once completed, the entire water network of the city will have a centralised control," said PK Agarwal, head of GMDA's Smart City division. CIWMS uses technologies such as electromagnetic flow meters, water control valves, pressure transmitters, and sensors. This equipment is installed in underground pipelines and tanks to measure water flow, pressure, and tank levels. All data is transmitted in real-time to GMDA's Integrated Command and Control Center, allowing the officials to monitor and manage the water supply effectively. The system is designed to ensure equitable distribution, minimise wastage, and address water shortages in even the farthest sectors along the network. According to the GMDA, a pilot project conducted in 2021 on the 1200-mm Basai-Dundahera pipeline showed the effectiveness of this technology by bringing down the non-revenue water from 70% to 20%, while ensuring adequate water supply to end sectors. Phase 2 of CIWMS, set to start shortly, got financial clearance from the govt earlier this month. Under this, the 1300mm master water supply pipeline from WTP Basai to Boosting Station Sector 16 and further to Sectors 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 25A, 26, 26A, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 39, 43, and 45 will be covered. It will also have a provision to monitor the working of the pumping machinery at WTP Basai and Chandu Budhera. Moreover, water quality sensors will also be installed at WTPs. The project will cost Rs 16.4 crore with a timeline of one year.

So here is some help. How To Play Strands The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a play on the classic word search. It’s in beta for now, which means it’ll only stick around if enough people play it every day. There’s a new game of Strands to play every day. The game will present you with a six by eight grid of letters. The aim is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you’ll get a clue as to what that theme is. When you find a theme word, it will remain highlighted in blue. You’ll also need to find a special word called a spangram. This tells you what the words have in common. The spangram links two opposite sides of the board. While the theme words will not be a proper name, the spangram can be a proper name. When you find the spangram, it will remain highlighted in yellow. Every letter is used once in one of the theme words and spangram. You can connect letters vertically, horizontally and diagonally, and it’s possible to switch directions in the middle of a word. If you’re playing on a touchscreen, double tap the last letter to submit your guess. The spangram is: LITTLE And is found on the board here: Strands The full list of answers is: LEAGUE DEVIL RASCALS DIPPER SPOON WOMEN FOOT ROCK Strands Yeah, this was hard. It was very difficult for me to figure out the connecting thread, so I thought I was just throwing up random words, and I used a lot of hints. Even after the spangram it was still tough. DIPPER took forever and you have to be pretty old to remember Little RASCALS. I am not sure I know the average age of a Strands player, however. Very tough puzzle if you ask me. Foundation, part of a national initiative to support rural libraries. The funding, announced on GivingTuesday, will support the creation of a homeschooling Resource Center, addressing a growing demand for educational resources in the local homeschooling community. GivingTuesday, created in 2012 as a simple idea to encourage people to do good , has evolved into a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity year-round, inspiring millions worldwide to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. “This center will provide access to interactive tools, such as take-home activity kits and museum passes to facilitate hands-on learning experiences,” said Alana Knapp, assistant director of the library. “We will acquire a diverse array of homeschooling materials that present current information, including workbooks and digital resources, as well as a rejuvenation of the juvenile nonfiction collection with a specific focus on subjects that require specialized knowledge such as geography, history and science.” The grant was provided through the Dorothy Louise Kyler Fund, established in honor of John Henry Eldred Jr.’s mother to assist rural libraries in improving children’s programming and circulation. Treat Memorial Library’s proposal emphasized the need for resources to support the town’s 34% increase in homeschooled students since 2020, as reported by the Maine Department of Education. The majority of students are between the ages of six and 13. Knapp highlighted the library’s goals for the new center, stating, “We always aim to bridge resource gaps that many families in our area face. One of our goals is to support [but not duplicate] the Spruce Mountain Elementary and Middle school libraries, making our collection more relevant for today’s young students.” The Homeschooling Resource Center will supply unique learning tools and foster educational experiences outside the traditional classroom setting. “This grant is a game-changer for families who want to explore learning in nontraditional ways,” Knapp said. “We are excited to offer these resources to enrich both individual learning and family activities.” The John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation awarded 77 grants to rural libraries across the United States this year, including 22 in Maine. The foundation’s mission is to support literacy, programming and access to educational materials, particularly in underserved areas. This year, special attention was given to 10 libraries in North Carolina and Georgia impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, ensuring those institutions could rebuild collections and serve as community hubs during recovery. Knapp praised the foundation’s focus on rural libraries, noting the unique challenges they face. “For example, take a program like Free Comic Book Day, where organizers suggest partnering with a local comic book shop to provide free comic books for patrons,” she said. “The closest comic book shop to us is 50 miles away. So we are always having to improvise new ways to provide our patrons with exciting materials and programming.” Knapp also reflected on the collaborative opportunities provided by The Maine School and Library Network, which includes many of the other 22 grant recipients. “The Maine library network provides many opportunities for connection,” she said. “Questions, ideas, problem-solving, and resource sharing are all part of the experience, and we’re very grateful to be a part of it.” Treat Memorial Library’s broader mission aligns closely with the goals of the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation. “To provide opportunity and encouragement for children, young people, men and women to educate themselves continuously. To serve the community as a center of reliable information,” Knapp said, quoting from the library’s mission statement. “To maintain this in a rural area, partnerships and funding like this are essential.” While this is Treat Memorial Library’s first direct collaboration with the Association for Rural & Small Libraries [ARSL] in a decade, Knapp expressed interest in leveraging the group’s resources in the future. “ARSL provides many resources and education opportunities that we look forward to exploring,” she said. The library does not currently plan to host an event commemorating the grant, but Knapp encouraged community members to participate in the programs it will fund. “We hope that our patrons will join us in participating in the programming and opportunities provided by the new funding,” she said. “We will be sharing and posting updates on our social media and in our newsletter, so folks can interact and follow along that way.” Knapp sees the funding as a critical step in the library’s long-term vision. “Our long-term vision for Treat Memorial Library is a hub of information and enrichment, as outlined in our mission statement,” she said. “Developing the Homeschooling Resource Center is a continuation of our goal to provide reliable, relevant outreach to the citizens of Livermore Falls and to support their needs.” Since 2012, the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation has awarded over $1 million to rural libraries, focusing on children’s and young adult collections, programming and access to technology.
