HUNDREDS of trans hospital patients have been admitted as women despite having conditions only suffered by men. Analysis by The Sun suggests at least 482 were admitted as female in a year despite having prostate, testicle or penis issues. They included 263 who suffered hyperplasia in the prostate — a non-cancerous enlargement of the gland that cannot occur in biological women as they do not have prostates. Another 85 had prostate cancer and 48 had “disorders of male genitals”. Figures cover the year to March at hospitals in England and Wales. NHS rules allow trans patients to have their gender changed on databases but kept off patient records. One GP insisted: “There’s pressure on staff not to offend patients. “But the fact they are recorded as women in the statistics is ridiculous.” Tory MP Sir John Hayes said: “You cannot change biology. “It is an immutable fact that these conditions only appear in biological men.” He added: “The fact the NHS is pandering to this is nonsense.” The NHS said: “These statistics report the gender registered by patients and therefore include trans women, with further patient details included in their health records.”Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has died. He was 100 years old and had spent more than a year in hospice care. The Georgia peanut farmer served one turbulent term in the White House before building a reputation as a global humanitarian and champion of democracy. He defeated President Gerald Ford in 1976 promising to restore trust in government but lost to Ronald Reagan four years later amid soaring inflation, gas station lines and the Iran hostage crisis. He and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, then formed The Carter Center, and he earned a Nobel Peace Prize while making himself the most active and internationally engaged of former presidents. The Carter Center said the former president died Sunday afternoon in Plains, Georgia.

Minister’s style Feats of a minister, who loves to remain in news, figure in public discussions in his constituency these days. The minister has recently started two school buses that he himself drove from the district headquarters to the school. There are talks about his role as the driver of a school bus. When the minister was driving the bus, the policemen on duty were tense, fearing lest there should be some unfortunate incident. So, the policemen were unhappy with the minister’s act. About the minister, it is said that he always finds some ways to remain in news. He sent the bus-riving video to several people. There are reports that his friends have advised him against getting involved in such a daring act. Once powerful, the minister is now losing importance in the government and spending more time in his constituency. Kissa Kursi Ka Many ministers have set their eyes on the departments of their cabinet colleague, who has recently lost an election. The Chief Minister is holding many departments. Ergo, they hope one of them will get the departments of their cabinet colleague who has lost the election. Against this backdrop, several ministers plan to meet the Chief Minister to lay their claim on those departments. The minister, from whom the departments were snatched and allotted to his colleague who lost the election, is very active in getting back his lost fortress. Three other ministers are also making efforts to get those departments. One of the ministers has already requested the head of the state to allot him an important department. He is also going all out to get it. Similarly, the minister, who was previously holding the department, is also sparing no effort to get it. He is using his clouts in Delhi to meet the purpose. There is another low-profile minister who is keen on getting the department. His purpose is to lay his hands on carrots. Real poet Organising a Kavi Sammelan (a conference of poets) on the occasion of the birthday of a Congress leader by his supporters has cost him dear. Many eminent poets from different parts of the country were invited to the meet. But one of the poets pulled up Congress leaders from the stage as well as criticised the party. The video of the conference has gone viral. Whenever the Congress leader watches the video, he gets angry. The video, in which the poet made a mockery of the Congress, has been reportedly sent to the party high command. The leader is now trying to give an explanation to his aides and has them not to call this poet to any function of the party again. Emerging stronger A minister of the MP cabinet has shown his guts in the Maharashtra assembly election in which the BJP has routed the opposition. The strike rate of the minister has gone so high, that he is being called ‘election-winning machine’ by the party. The BJP has won most of the states where the leader was sent for canvassing. In one of the states, the BJP may not have won the election, but his role in bringing the party to the forefront, cannot be ignored. In the same way, he worked hard to ensure the party’s victory in the difficult constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. What is more, by ensuring the party’s victory on these seats, the leader has made it clear that he is an expert in winning elections. Now, it has to be seen what he gets from the party in recognition of his good deeds. Shocking defeat A politician is in shock after his defeat in a recently held by-election. He resorted to all means – including performing religious rites – to win the poll, but Lady Luck did not favour him. Before the by-election, he organised Bhagwat Katha in his constituency to woo heavenly bodies. The politician organised religious functions even before taking over as minister to ward off evil spirits, but his efforts came to naught; and his rival snowed him under in a bit upset. Now that he has started aging, he may soon go into oblivion. Surprising win The Congress’s victory in an assembly by-election is no less than a surprise for a leader of the party. The leader was neither hopeful of a win in the constituency nor confident of so much decline in BJP’s victory margin in another. This had been the reason why the party’s executive committee meeting was held before the poll outcome. The purpose was to avoid any discussion about the by-poll results at the meeting. The leader was disappointed, for the senior members of the party kept away from it. There are reports that holding an executive committee meeting before the by-poll outcome is now paining him. Had he called the meeting after the by-poll results, he would have reigned supreme in the conference. On the other hand, another leader of the party is unhappy with the by-poll results, because he was sent to a different state for electioneering. The Congress has lost the election in that state. At the same time, he did not get any credit for the party’s victory in the by-election.Is Outlook down? Thousands of Microsoft 365 users report outage issues
Winnipeg students take in Moose hockey game at Canada Life Centre in mental-health initiativeThe death of former President Jimmy Carter on Sunday led to a swift outpouring of support and condolences from notable figures in both political parties. President Joe Biden and president-elect Donald Trump issued statements Sunday, and both said Carter was a president who worked to better Americans’ lives. “He was a man of great character and courage, hope and optimism,” Biden and First Lady Jill Biden said in a statement. “We will always cherish seeing him and Rosalynn together. The love shared between Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter is the definition of partnership and their humble leadership is the definition of patriotism.” Trump said Carter dealt with “enormous responsibility” that only other presidents could relate to. “The challenges Jimmy faced as President came at a pivotal time for our country and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all Americans,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social. “For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude.” ‘One of my heroes’ Fellow Georgia politicians, including Democratic Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, issued passionate statements following the news Sunday. Warnock referred to the Plains native as “one of my heroes.” “His leadership was driven by love, his life’s project grounded in compassion and a commitment to human dignity,” Warnock said. “For those of us who have the privilege of representing our communities in elected office, Jimmy Carter is a shining example of what it means to make your faith come alive through the noble work of public service.” Ossoff said Carter’s work “changed the lives of many across our state, our country, and around the world.” “The State of Georgia and the United States are better places because of President Jimmy Carter,” Ossoff said. Former Sen. Sam Nunn, from Georgia, lauded Carter for his “spine of steel and intrepid focus and determination.” “Colin Powell and I had front row seats to these unique Carter traits in Haiti in 1994,” he said in a statement. “I will never forget nervously watching President Carter negotiate every word of the Haitian military’s peaceful turnover of authority, while the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne prepared to land on the roof of the military headquarters, where we were finishing the agreement.” Brad Raffensperger, Georgia secretary of state, said Carter devoted his life to serving the U.S. “As a true servant-leader, he devoted his post-presidency to spreading the very best of American ideals across the globe,” Raffensperger said in a statement Sunday. “His commitment to peace, democracy, and human rights has left an indelible mark on the world.” The Democratic Party of Georgia’s Chair, Rep. Nikema Williams, said Carter “leaves one of the greatest legacies of humanitarianism in history.” “My husband Leslie and I named our son Carter after our 39th president because he showed us that ordinary Georgians can do extraordinary things,” Williams said. “He was one of the greatest public servants of our time – and he was also a peanut farmer from Plains, Georgia. From a southwest Georgia town of a few hundred people to the Oval Office, President Carter went from sowing crops to sowing the seeds of peace around the world.” Georgia Lt. Gov. Ines Owens said Carter “represented small towns like Plains, Georgia and never forgot where he and his family came from.” Georgia’s Carter had ‘calm spirit and deep faith’ Major national lawmakers outside the Peach State offered their thoughts too, including GOP Sen. Mitch McConnell. McConnell said Carter’s “calm spirit and deep faith seemed “unshakable” during difficulties in his presidency. “President Carter lived a truly American dream,” McConnell said. “A devoutly religious peanut farmer from small-town Georgia volunteered to serve his country in uniform. He found himself manning cutting-edge submarines hundreds of feet beneath the ocean. He returned home and saved the family farm before feeling drawn to a different sort of public service. And less than 15 years after his first campaign for the state Senate, his fellow Americans elected him leader of the free world.” Chuck Schumer, the Democratic Senate majority leader, called Carter “one of our most humble and devoted public servants.” “President Carter’s faith in the American people and his belief in the power of kindness and humility leave a strong legacy,” Schumer said. “He taught us that the strength of a leader lies not in rhetoric but in action, not in personal gain but in service to others.” ©2024 The Charlotte Observer. German politicians have criticised Elon Musk for an opinion piece he wrote backing the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), claiming his support for the party was “intrusive”. The support of the AfD from Musk, who is set to serve in US President-elect Donald Trump's administration, comes as Germans are set to vote on February 23. The vote was triggered after a coalition government led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz collapsed in a dispute over how to revitalise Germany’s stagnant economy. Mr Musk wrote an op-ed in German in the Welt am Sonntag newspaper claiming that “only the AfD can save Germany" and praised the party's approach to regulation, taxes and market deregulation. He went on to say the party “can lead the country into a future where economic prosperity, cultural integrity and technological innovation are not just wishes, but reality.” The editor of the newspaper’s opinion section, Eva Marie Kogel, resigned after the publication of the article. She wrote on X: “I always enjoyed leading the opinion section of WELT and WAMS. Today an article by Elon Musk appeared in Welt am Sonntag. I handed in my resignation yesterday after it went to print.” Friedrich Merz, leader of the opposition Christian Democrats and current favourite to succeed Scholz as chancellor, said in an interview with the Funke Media Group: "I cannot recall a comparable case of interference, in the history of Western democracies, in the election campaign of a friendly country." Mr Merz described the commentary as "intrusive and pretentious". Saskia Esken, co-leader of Scholz's Social Democrats (SPD), vowed fierce resistance to attempts by state actors as well as the rich and influential to influence Germany's elections. “In Elon Musk's world, democracy and workers' rights are obstacles to more profit,” she told Reuters. “We say quite clearly: Our democracy is defensible and it cannot be bought.” Welt's editor-in-chief designate defended the decision to publish the commentary, saying that democracy and journalism thrive on freedom of opinion, including polarising positions. The AfD is currently second in the opinion polls and might be able to thwart a centre-right or centre-left majority. However, the party has no realistic possibility of entering power because other parties refuse to work with them.

Trump warns to ban BRICS nations in US economy over anti-dollar plans Trump says that there is no chance that BRICS will replace US Dollar in International Trade President-elect Donald Trump has warned BRICS nations of a potential ban from the US economy if they proceed with plans to undermine the US dollar. "We require a commitment... that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty US Dollar or, they will face 100 percent Tariffs," Trump wrote on his Truth Social website, referring to the grouping that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and others. The statement comes after a BRICS summit held last month in Kazan, Russia, where the countries discussed boosting non-dollar transactions and strengthening local currencies. The BRICS group has expanded significantly since its inception in 2009, and now includes countries such as Iran, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Altogether the BRICS coalition accounts for a significant minority of the world’s economic output. At the Kazan summit in October, Moscow secured a joint declaration encouraging the "strengthening of correspondent banking networks within BRICS and enabling settlements in local currencies in line with BRICS Cross-Border Payments Initiative." But at the end of the summit Putin indicated that little progress had been made on launching a possible competitor to the Belgium-based SWIFT financial messaging system. "As for SWIFT and any alternatives, we have not created and are not creating any alternatives," Putin told reporters at the end of the summit. He added: "As for a unified BRICS currency, we are not considering that question at the moment." Trump has vowed to pursue a protectionist agenda, threatening hefty tariffs on neighbors and rivals. If BRICS countries continue with their plans, Trump warned, they "should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful US Economy," he wrote. "They can go find another ‘sucker!’ There is no chance that the BRICS will replace the US Dollar in International Trade, and any Country that tries should wave goodbye to America."
