Under the guidance of their esteemed manager, Pep Guardiola, City's formidable squad depth and attacking prowess have made them a formidable force to be reckoned with. Simon noted that City's ability to maintain consistency and adapt to different playing styles has been key to their success in the title race.

Ohtani wins third MVP, while Judge takes his secondUnlike scores of people who for the blockbuster drugs Ozempic and Wegovy to lose weight in recent years, Danielle Griffin had no trouble getting them. The 38-year-old information technology worker from New Mexico had a prescription. Her pharmacy had the drugs in stock. And her covered all but $25 to $50 of the monthly cost. For Griffin, the hardest part of using the new drugs wasn’t access. It was finding out that the didn’t really work for her. “I have been on Wegovy for a year and a half and have only lost 13 pounds,” said Griffin, who watches her diet, drinks plenty of water and exercises regularly. “I’ve done everything right with no success. It’s discouraging.” In clinical trials, most participants taking Wegovy or Mounjaro to treat obesity lost an average of 15% to 22% of their body weight — up to 50 pounds or more in many cases. But roughly 10% to 15% of patients in those trials were “nonresponders” who lost less than 5% of their body weight. Now that millions of people have used the drugs, several obesity experts told The Associated Press that perhaps 20% of patients — as many as 1 in 5 — may not respond well to the medications. It’s a little-known consequence of the obesity drug boom, according to doctors who caution eager patients not to expect one-size-fits-all results. “It’s all about explaining that different people have different responses,” said Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, an obesity expert at Massachusetts General Hospital The drugs are known as GLP-1 receptor agonists because they mimic a hormone in the body known as glucagon-like peptide 1. Genetics, hormones and variability in how the brain regulates energy can all influence weight — and a person’s response to the drugs, Stanford said. Medical conditions such as sleep apnea can prevent weight loss, as can certain common medications, such as antidepressants, steroids and contraceptives. “This is a disease that stems from the brain,” said Stanford. “The dysfunction may not be the same” from patient to patient. Despite such cautions, patients are often upset when they start getting the weekly injections but the numbers on the scale barely budge. “It can be devastating,” said Dr. Katherine Saunders, an obesity expert at Weill Cornell Medicine and co-founder of the obesity treatment company FlyteHealth. “With such high expectations, there’s so much room for disappointment.” That was the case for Griffin, who has battled obesity since childhood and hoped to shed 70 pounds using Wegovy. The drug helped reduce her appetite and lowered her risk of diabetes, but she saw little change in weight. “It’s an emotional roller coaster,” she said. “You want it to work like it does for everybody else.” The medications are along with eating behavior and lifestyle changes. It’s usually clear within weeks whether someone will respond to the drugs, said Dr. Jody Dushay, an endocrine specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Weight loss typically begins right away and continues as the dosage increases. For some patients, that just doesn’t happen. For others, side effects such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea force them to halt the medications, Dushay said. In such situations, patients who were counting on the new drugs to pare pounds may think they’re out of options. “I tell them: It’s not game over,” Dushay said. Trying a different version of the new class of drugs may help. Griffin, who didn’t respond well to Wegovy, has started using Zepbound, which targets an additional hormone pathway in the body. After three months of using the drug, she has lost 7 pounds. “I’m hoping it’s slow and steady,” she said. Other people respond well to older drugs, the experts said. Changing diet, exercise, sleep and stress habits can also have profound effects. Figuring out what works typically requires a doctor trained to treat obesity, Saunders noted. “Obesity is such a complex disease that really needs to be treated very comprehensively,” she said. “If what we’re prescribing doesn’t work, we always have a backup plan.” ___ The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Science and Educational Media Group. Harold Perrineau in FROM I have good news and bad news FROM fans. The good news first: We’ll be getting another season of MGM’s popular-yet-super-underrated series, which is something we’ll all be dying for by the end of Season 3 this coming Sunday. FROM, which I’ve called the spiritual successor to Lost, is a show about a group of people trapped in a mysterious and unnamed town (I call Fromville) terrorized by hideous monsters and confounded by impossible mysteries. It’s one of my favorite current TV shows, and while I’m not surprised by the renewal—it’s the most-watched show on MGM+—I’m certainly relieved. You never know when a studio will inexplicably cancel a series these days. The bad news is a little disappointing. Production on the new 10-episode season begins in 2025 and the first episode won’t drop until 2026. That means the wait will be over a year, though whether it’s a year and a couple months, or a full two years away remains to be seen. Read my review of the latest FROM episode right here: iOS 18.1.1—Update Now Warning Issued To All iPhone Users Leak Reveals Trump Crypto Bombshell As Bitcoin Suddenly Surges Toward $100,000 Price Could Matt Gaetz Get His House Seat Back—Or Be Named Senator? What To Know After He Bails As Trump’s Attorney General Pick The series stars Lost alum Harold Perrineau as the town’s sheriff, Boyd, as well as a talented cast of actors including Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, Ricky He, Chloe Van Landschoot, Corteon Moore, Pegah Ghafoori, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders, Avery Konrad, Scott McCord, Nathan D. Simmons, Kaelen Ohm, Angela Moore, A.J. Simmons, Deborah Grover, Robert Joy and Samantha Brown. While the show can get bogged down in slower “filler” episodes, overall it’s still a gripping watch. It’s often frightening, there are tons of mysteries to theorize about, and according to what I’ve heard they have the whole thing worked out ahead of time, so we don’t need to worry that this show will be like Lost in the worst ways. Season 3 is already pushing us closer to some very big answers. In a press release, showrunner Jeff Pinkner said “We are thrilled by the support of our fans and our partners at MGM+ and are so excited to share the next chapter of our story with our FROMily. By the end of Season 3, our characters will begin to understand why they are trapped in FROM Town... but will understanding help them to escape? And if so, how?” The series was created by John Griffin and the majority of its episodes are directed by Jack Bender of Lost and Game Of Thrones fame. You can watch the series on MGM+ via Amazon Prime Video. I highly recommend it.Class Action Announcement for Celsius Holdings, Inc. As Tottenham's season progresses and they continue to compete in the Premier League and other competitions, the significance of Son's corner flag throw will be closely watched. Will it be a defining moment that sets the tone for their approach to set-pieces, or will it be just a fleeting gesture in the heat of a fierce derby match? Only time will tell. But one thing is for certain: Son Heung-min's action has certainly sparked conversations and brought attention to the evolving tactics and strategies in modern football.
