As I ran to the grocery store on Friday to pick up a few remaining items, I thought about my grocery list for the week. While it certainly included things like green beans, chicken broth, and extra paper plates, I considered the other list that I needed to focus on to prepare. A list that includes Thankfulness in many forms. Thankfulness for our family’s health; thankfulness for our kids being able to travel to spend a few days with us; thankfulness for family and friends far and wide who will share greetings whether in person or via text, social media, or even a phone call! A list that also includes thankfulness for communities that care and support small businesses, families in need, and organizations that help at so many levels. That list also includes thankfulness for leaders across our county and the Cottonwood Extension District who have a vision and want to improve the quality of life and livelihood of citizens. My Thankfulness list also includes my 4-H families, volunteers, and community partners. Helping youth have and improve skills in communication, teamwork, and career readiness is important to me and to the long-term health and success of our communities! My Gram lived by the adage that there was always room at her table for one more. She didn’t grow up with much and certainly made do her whole life but that never stopped her from being thankful and sharing what she had with family, friends, and neighbors. The Dallas Mavericks' Naji Marshall has been suspended four games without pay and the Phoenix Suns' Jusuf Nurkic is suspended three games without pay for their altercation in a game on Friday night, the NBA announced Saturday. Mavericks forward P.J. Washington was suspended one game without pay for escalating the fight by pushing Nurkic to the floor. The incident started with 9:02 left in the third quarter of Dallas' 98-89 road victory over Phoenix. Nurkic committed an offensive foul and the center had words with Marshall. Nurkic swung his arm and hit the Mavericks forward on the top of his head, and Marshall retaliated by punching Nurkic in the face. Game officials and players attempted to separate the players when Washington shoved Nurkic, who fell to the floor. All three players were assessed technical fouls and ejected from the game. Marshall tried to "engage Nurkic in a hostile manner in the corridor outside the locker rooms," the NBA said in a statement. Marshall will begin his suspension and Washington will serve his on Saturday night when the Mavericks visit the Portland Trail Blazers. The Tennessee Titans will turn to Mason Rudolph as their starter at quarterback for a second consecutive week, despite a three-interception performance in a loss Sunday to the Indianapolis Colts. Titans head coach Brian Callahan announced the decision Tuesday after calling his starting quarterback situation a week-to-week proposition moving forward for his 3-12 team. Rudolph, who was inserted as starter Sunday in place of a struggling Will Levis, was 23-of-34 passing for 252 yards and two touchdowns, but the turnovers proved costly in a 38-30 loss at Indianapolis. Rudolph, who made three starts for an injured Levis earlier this season, has completed 63.8 percent of his passes this season in 188 attempts for 1,267 yards, eight TDs and eight interceptions. Callahan yanked Levis in the third quarter of a 37-27 loss to the visiting Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15. Levis threw for just 89 yards and three interceptions, including a pick returned for a touchdown. He also lost a fumble. Rudolph came on to complete 21 of 26 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns -- one on the final play of the game -- and an interception.
