The police formed a line in front of one of the stands, which houses the main ultras group, called Brigade Loire. Referee Jérôme Brisard then led the players off, with only about three minutes remaining in stoppage time. After the Brigade Loire had left the Stade de La Beaujoire, the match was deemed safe to resume 35 minutes later, and the final three minutes were played in a somber atmosphere. The defeat dropped eight-time French champion Nantes into 16th place in the 18-team league. “Honestly we weren't expecting that. It's rare to experience this kind of thing, but you can understand things from a fan's point of view," Nantes striker Ignatius Ganago told match broadcaster DAZN. "We are not getting results. But it's also difficult for us, the players.” After Josué Casimir had scored in the third minute for Le Havre, the match was halted for a few minutes when tennis balls and toilet paper were thrown onto the pitch by some home fans, with Nantes players helping to clear the debris on the field. Forward Steve Ngoura doubled the lead in the 74th for Le Havre, which climbed above Rennes into 14th. In Sunday's late game, Nice rallied to beat midtable Strasbourg 2-1 and move up to fifth place. Striker Dilane Bakwa put the Alsace-based side ahead in the 20th, before defender Melvin Bard equalized in the 54th from midfielder Sofiane Diop's pass behind the defense. Diop's pass forced an own-goal from Abakar Sylla in the 62nd when trying to pass back to goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. Nice is two points behind fourth-place Lille after 12 rounds. Zhegrova shines for Lille Edon Zhegrova continued his fine form with the only goal as Lille beat Rennes 1-0 to stay one point behind Marseille in third. The Kosovo winger started and finished the move in the 45th minute with one of his trademark darting runs from the right flank. Zhegrova combined with Rémy Cabella and striker Jonathan David before firing past veteran goalkeeper Steve Mandanda with his left foot. It was his fourth league goal of the season and he is well set to beat his mark of six from the last campaign. The 25-year-old Zhegrova made similar attacking runs when Lille drew 1-1 with Juventus in the Champions League three weeks ago, providing a superb assist for David's goal. He thought he had set David up for a goal against Rennes in the 57th, after again breaking free down the right, but the effort was ruled out for a narrow offside. Zhegrova clutched his left groin near the end and was given an ovation by the home fans when he went off. Rennes is in 15th place. That really socks Struggling Rennes recently appointed Jorge Sampaoli as coach after firing Julien Stéphan. Sampaoli has become famed within soccer for his short temper. The 64-year-old Argentine was irate when Rennes defener Mikayil Faye had to change his socks before coming on as a replacement for the injured Alidu Seidu early in the first half. Faye did not have the correct socks on and, with Sampaoli shouting at him, had to sit down on the side of the pitch and slip the right ones on. Also Sunday, midfielder Hamed Traorè scored three minutes into stoppage time as seventh-place Auxerre won 1-0 against lowly Angers. PSG beat Toulouse 3-0 on Friday and Marseille won 3-1 at Lens on Saturday. ___ AP soccer: https://apnews.com/hub/soccer Jerome Pugmire, The Associated Press
Hair specialist reveals why drugstore products are actually better for your locks than high-end brands Certified trichologist Abbey Yung recommended drugstore hair products She said they contain better ingredients than most high-end brands READ MORE: Dermatologist reveals her favorite hacks for promoting hair growth By EMILY LEFROY FOR DAILYMAIL.COM Published: 16:49 EST, 26 December 2024 | Updated: 17:04 EST, 26 December 2024 e-mail View comments If you've ever reached into the back of your bathroom cupboard and found an old shampoo and conditioner bottle, than you could have stumbled upon a winning combination. TikTok user and certified trichologist Abbey Yung recently explained why your locks may feel and look more luscious after using a drugstore branded shampoo and conditioner rather than a high-end brand. 'Everything you have ever been told about drugstore haircare is a lie,' Yung began an eye-opening video shared to her TikTok. 'The reason why your hair instantly feels drastically better after using a drugstore shampoo and conditioner is either because of the sulfates, the silicones or both,' she explained. The expert added that there are 'too many' haircare brands that have removed sulfates and silicones from their products, which means they don't clean your hair properly. 'Not because it's better for your hair and scalp, but because it's part of a marketing strategy to be able to label their products in a certain way that make it more likely to for you to spend their money on them,' Yung claimed. However, the hair expert said there are 'two huge issues' with the tactic. The expert explained that when brands remove effective cleaning agents, like sulfates, from shampoos, they remove the ability of that shampoo to give your hair and scalp the proper cleanse it needs. Certified trichologist Abbey Yung recently explained why your locks may feel and look more luscious after using a drugstore shampoo and conditioner rather than a high-end brand 'In the exact same way when brands remove effective conditioning ingredients, like silicones from their conditioners, they have removed the ability of that conditioner to properly condition and protect their hair,' Yung continued. 'That is exactly why you notice such an immediate, drastic difference when you switch to a drugstore shampoo and conditioner - you're finally using products that haven't eliminated the exact ingredients that make our scalp and hair cleaner, softer, smoother, shiner, more bouncy, more manageable, less frizzy, less tangled.' Users shared their own experiences of using drugstore shampoo and conditioners in the comment section - and many agreed that their hair had never looked better. 'Pantene is hated by most stylists, but I had my best hair days when I used it in the past,' one user wrote. 'There is no conditioner that conditions like Pantene!' agreed another. 'Went back to Pantene after years of expensive salon products. My hair looks amazing!' gushed someone else. 'Pantene has never been good for my hair. The L’Oréal brand - I can use that and my hair feels great,' added another. Another hair expert previously revealed how often you really should be washing your hair. Dr Crystal Aguh, an Associate Professor of Dermatology and an Olaplex Scientific Advisory Board Member, shed light on the mistakes people tend to make in the shower and the two 'must-have' products customers can't get enough of back in July. The expert said there are 'too many' haircare brands that have removed important ingredients from their products, which means they don't clean your hair properly (stock image) Users shared their own experiences of using drugstore shampoo and conditioners in the comment section - and many agreed that their hair has never looked better Read More Are you washing your hair wrong? Expert spills her secret to shiny locks While most only condition the ends of their hair, Dr Aguh recommended applying product from the root all the way to the tip. 'This allows the strands to stay moisturized and helps minimize damage from everyday wear and tear,' she said. The professional added that a quick 30-second lather is all that is required when shampooing your hair - and additional cleanses can actually cause more harm than good. As for the number of times you should wash your hair, she said that will be determined by your 'curl type.' 'A quick 15 to 30 second lather is all that is required for adequate shampooing and cleansing. Double shampooing can be helpful if you have a lot of product build-up,' Dr Aguh said. LOS ANGELES, Dec. 26, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Crown Electrokinetics Corp. (NASDAQ: CRKN) ("Crown" or the "Company”) , a leading provider of innovative technology infrastructure solutions that benefit communities and the environment, today provided a letter to shareholders from its CEO and Chairman, Doug Croxall. Dear Fellow Shareholders, As 2024 comes to a close, I want to reflect on Crown’s accomplishments this year and share our vision for the year ahead. It has been a transformative year for Crown, as we have evolved into a rapidly growing public conglomerate with three diversified divisions: Smart Windows, Fiber Optics, and Water Solutions. This year, we made significant operational progress, achieving key milestones that position Crown for continued growth and success. We expanded our presence across eight U.S. states and two countries, building a robust platform to address critical infrastructure and technology challenges. We are on track to deliver $20 million in revenue for 2024, which is all the more impressive given it was primarily generated in the final three quarters. This achievement reflects our progress and the strong demand for our innovative technology infrastructure solutions. Financially, we are well-positioned to achieve profitability in the first half of 2025, even as we continue to invest strategically in our growth plans. Crown has actively raised capital recently to execute those expansion plans and will close the year with record levels of cash in hand and minimal debt. This achievement reflects our disciplined approach to building a healthy balance sheet and implementing the structure required to support both near-term objectives and long-term expansion. We share in your frustration that our market value, trading at approximately our current cash value, does not yet reflect either Crown’s recent achievements or its immense future potential. However, we remain confident that this disparity will correct itself as we build a company that delivers meaningful impact, sustainable growth, and shareholder value. To ensure we maintain our listing status, we have filed our appeal with NASDAQ and expect to go before the hearing committee likely in early February. We will provide timely updates as they become available to Crown. In preparation, we have filed a Proxy Statement ahead of the Special Meeting on January 14 th and are requesting approval to execute a reverse stock split to maintain bid-price compliance. We strongly urge our shareholders to favorably vote their approximately 64 million voting shares, and to provide Crown with the flexibility and financial strength needed to continue delivering against our growth plans. 2024 Division Highlights Smart Windows Achieved a critical manufacturing technology breakthrough, opening the way for product launch in 2025. Engaged with new customers for survey work in the Los Cabos area to prepare for additional slant well installations over the next year. Conducted lead testing on over 2,500 homes across Florida, Maryland, and New York, securing more than $45 million in lead inspection and remediation projects. 2025 Outlook As we look ahead to 2025, Crown is stronger, more focused, and better positioned than ever to capitalize on new opportunities. With momentum across our three divisions, we are committed to achieving profitability in the first half of 2025, expanding our footprint to meet increasing demand, and delivering innovative infrastructure solutions that address critical challenges. Our team of industry experts, with a desire to change the status quo through innovation, is growing rapidly. As we scale, we are actively refining our business processes to align with our growing operations while maintaining agility and focus. Looking ahead, we provided full year 2025 revenue guidance between $30 million and $35 million, underscoring the expected strength of our business to come. To our shareholders, thank you for your trust and confidence as we continue to execute our vision. While our stock price does not yet reflect the intrinsic value of Crown, we remain focused on building a company that delivers meaningful impact, sustainable growth, and shareholder value. Approving the proposed reverse stock split is a critical step in strengthening our position to meet listing requirements, attract new investors, and enhance financial flexibility. Your support is vital to driving Crown’s long-term success and unlocking its full potential. We’re excited for 2025 and look forward to updating you on our progress regularly.
