Kasen Jennings finished with 13 points. Middle Tennessee led 51-33 at halftime, with Porter racking up 14 points. Mostafa led the way with a team-high 14 second-half points. ___ The Associated Press created this story using technology provided by Data Skrive and data from Sportradar .Sam Prendergast and Jordie Barrett, the Leinster double-act being talked of every day, all week, all month produced an incredible six minutes of rugby just before the hour to stun Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate. Andy Farrell's international selection bravery, Leo Cullen's recognition of what was best for his side were vindicated. While, pointedly, those who traduced Prendergast these last few weeks on social media need to scramble in a race to retract, to apologise. The 21 year-old out-half was simply superb, scoring twice, one exceptional and one superb touchdown. READ MORE: Jack Conan commits future to Leinster ending speculation of French move READ MORE: Munster - Stade Francais, a tale of two cities Lille and Limerick, it was the worst of times, it was the best of times It is unlikely any Irish-based out-half in the modern era could have scored the first of them either, certainly not David Humphreys, Ronan O'Gara, Felipe Contepomi or Johnny Sexton; only wingers would possess the kind of pace needed for the second. Meanwhile Jordie Barrett, who was brought in at half-time for Robbie Henhaw was involved in everything Leinster did in an overall purple patch, the first quarter after half-time. First up there was a notable tackle but then on 52 minutes he glided into first receiver at a scrum and, taking the ball from Jamison Gibson-Park, fed Prendergast who sprinted through a gap, threw an outrageous dummy and cut back left, to race over. Barrett got the second try in this six minute period on the back of having originally set up an attack that was stopped close to the line. The All Blacks called for the ball from a recycle and cut back against the direction of play, dotting down without anyone laying a finger on him. Then following the Bears restart, Leinster counter-attacked and suddenly RG Snyman was racing through on the carry in behind the defence with just the full-back between him and the line 40 metres away. Drawing the defender he flipped the ball back inside to Prendergast who led the defenders behind him a merry chase; they were close to him but with the aid of a slight weave he stayed out in front and made it all the way to the line. Bristol had been caught in the eye of a perfect six minute storm that will be talked of by Leinster fans who were there for a long time; the first Prendergast touchdown will be a Try of the Season contender, his second could well make the top three. Said New Zealand star Barrett afterwards: "It was quite nice, just getting a bit of feel for the match, I mean I've only been here 10 days. Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose have been awesome this week and just made my job a lot easier. "It's been a long eight days since the game in Ulster last week but I am really enjoying my time in Dublin. My body was in good condition when I left Italy a few weeks ago. "I was chomping at the bit for the opportunity at Leinster and, like I said, I couldn't wait to get to Dublin, get around some great coaches and some great players. I have enjoyed it so far. "I was very aware of Leinster's history in this competition and their reputation in the northern hemisphere and, at the age I am, I wanted to come here and test myself in championship games. Tonight was a great test, I love seeing a team that plays with no fear." The first 50 minutes had, pre-Prendergast/Barrett's blast-off, proved to be an astonishingly slow stop/start affair with just two scores. This came as Bristol had lost Dublin-born AJ MacGinty early on, the victim of a huge hit from Ringrose who had shot up out of the line to nail the line. Meanwhile the set-piece was a complete shambles for both sides, frees, penalties, collapses the order of the day and resulting in the French referee warning in the 49th minute he would start sin-binning people. Sure enough the next scrum fell and Andrew Porter, despite only being on the pitch six minutes, and Max Lahiff were dispatched to sit out 10 minutes. Leinster's defence was the best part of the game for those first 50 minutes and there were a number of sets within their own 22m where they managed to remain dominant while, on the other side of the ball, there was costly turnovers from Jimmy O'Brien, Max Deegan and Josh van der Flier among others. Moreover it looked like Leinster were in double-trouble late in that first-half when firstly Ronan Kelleher (repeated team offending) and Max Deegan (trip) were yellow-carded in the 27th and 29th minute respectively. Sure enough Bristol benefitted, kicking the Deegan penalty to touch where Santiago Grondona tapped down directly to the charging Bill Mata who almost made the line. The ball was recycled, fed directly to Harry Thacker who scored. Seven points down the question as to whether Leinster were in trouble barely arose as the 13-men went on the attack after the restart. Prendergast dinked a ball into a gap that Bears full-back Rich Lane, rushing forward to smother, misjudged. The ball bounced up and the hard-chasing Jordan Larmour gathered to cross, Prendergast managing to irritate the Aston Gate faithful by standing over the conversion under the posts for as long as he dared to run the clock down. This was part of the Blues making to half-time at 7-7 and with the score having been pushed out to 28-7 after the six minutes of Prendergast-Barrett, there were further scores from van der Flier - who would pick up TV Man of the Match and Bristol's Gabriel Ibitoye. Said van der Flier afterwards: "It was tough work, Bristol really put it to us, they were very good in that first-half. That period when we were down to 13 men, obviously we conceded but that was probably a crucial point in the game, we kinda dug in there. "A good second-half we did, and a lot of credit to Bristol. They are a quality side, but we managed some good defensive efforts. The backs got some good opportunities in the second-half. Delighted to come away with the win here. "We spoke at half-time, there was no question about working hard or that kind of thing. It was all about the small little details, discipline being one of them, being a bit more calm, a bit more trying to take them on directly rather than being fancy. "It worked. I suppose there was a lot of good work put in at the start of the second-half which was good." Robbins LLP Urges XRX Stockholders with Large Losses to Contact the Firm for information About the Xerox Holdings Corporation Class Action LawsuitCLEVELAND (AP) — The NFL has closed an investigation into sexual assault allegations against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who is ending the season on injured reserve for the second year in a row. The league has been reviewing the case for months , trying to determine whether Watson should be punished. “The matter is closed,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy said Friday in an email to The Associated Press. “There was insufficient evidence to support a finding of a violation of the personal conduct policy.” Watson, who served an 11-game suspension in 2022, was accused of assault in Texas by a woman in September. She was seeking more than $1 million in damages before the sides reached a confidential settlement. Watson strongly denied the allegations through his attorney, Rusty Hardin. The 29-year-old Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture in October. He's been rehabbing the injury in hopes of returning next season. The Browns still owe Watson $46 million in each of the next two seasons after they traded three first-round picks to Houston and signed him to a five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract that has backfired. Watson has only played in 19 games over three seasons due to the suspension and injuries. He was acquired by the Browns, who were comfortable with his character despite Watson being accused of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct during massage therapy sessions while he played for the Texans. While he's in the clear with the league, Watson's future with Cleveland isn't so certain. His massive contract — and its salary-cap ramifications — has put the Browns in a bind in terms of trying to improve their roster. Cleveland has had a disappointing season after making the playoffs a year ago and could move on from Watson, but the cost would be exorbitant if the team just releases him. The Browns signed Jameis Winston for one season to be Watson's backup. Winston has gone 2-3 as a starter since taking over and he's put some life into Cleveland's offense, which didn't score 20 points or gain 300 yards with Watson before his injury. His 2023 season was ended by a broken bone in his shoulder, requiring surgery. Winston has indicated he would come back, and he could be a viable option as a starter even if the Browns draft a young QB. AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/NFLMANCHESTER, England (Reuters) -Premier League leaders Liverpool opened up a seven-point gap at the top as they came from a goal down to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield after second-placed Chelsea lost at home to Fulham and Manchester City’s woes continued on Thursday. Arne Slot’s Liverpool could not have asked for a better start to a flurry of festive fixtures as goals by Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah sealed the points. The victory extended their unbeaten league run to 13 games and put Liverpool on 42 points from 17 games. Chelsea had earlier surrendered a lead at home to Fulham to lose 2-1 — Rodrigo Muniz scoring for the visitors in the 95th minute for their first victory at Stamford Bridge since 1979. Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have 35 points from 18 games. Reigning champions Manchester City could only draw 1-1 at home to Everton with Erling Haaland missing a penalty as Pep Guardiola’s side slipped to seventh. Nottingham Forest moved up to third with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur while Manchester United lost for the fourth time in five Premier League games, going down 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers to sit in 14th place. Liverpool suffered an early shock at a foggy Anfield in the last of the Boxing Day kickoffs with Jordan Ayew giving Leicester a lead in the sixth minute. Leicester hung on until the stroke of halftime but just after Salah struck the crossbar, Gakpo curled an effort beyond Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk. Liverpool put Leicester under siege straight from the break and took just four minutes into the second half Jones converted a pass by Alexis Mac Allister. Salah then grabbed his 16th league goal of the season with a trademark finish to wrap it up. “We cannot deny we are in a good place, but still one of the strengths of the team is we approach each game as a new one,” Gakpo said. “That keeps us humble.” CHELSEA DROP POINTS Chelsea took the lead after Cole Palmer danced past two defenders and slid the ball through Issa Diop’s legs. But Fulham equalised in the 82nd minute when Harry Wilson headed home from close range before substitute Muniz clinched all three points for Fulham at the death. It was Chelsea’s first league loss since a 2-1 defeat on Oct. 20 by Liverpool. Guardiola’s City have now managed only one win in 13 games in all competitions as their crisis showed no sign of ending. Bernardo Silva put them ahead in the 14th minute but Iliman Ndiaye levelled before Haaland missed a penalty. “Incredible how (City players) run and fight and do everything. Some games have not been good, but today, the case was it was well played,” Guardiola said. “But football is about winning, football is about you score goals and you don’t concede. The last month, month and a half, we are not able to do it.” FOREST’S MARCH UP TABLE CONTINUES Forest continued their unlikely challenge for a top-four spot as Anthony Elanga’s first-half goal secured a win over Spurs to put them third. Elanga completed a superb Forest counter-attack in the 28th minute to settle a contest that Tottenham ended with 10 men after former Forest player Djed Spence was sent off. Tottenham’s fourth defeat in five Premier League games left them in 11th. “The belief is here but the belief doesn’t hide the reality. The reality says we haven’t achieved nothing yet,” Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, whose team have 34 points, said. Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim left Marcus Rashford out of his fourth successive squad and his side were undermined at Wolves as captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off just after halftime for a second yellow card. Matheus Cunha then scored direct from a corner and then teed up Hwang Hee-chan in stoppage time to seal United’s fate. Wolves marked manager Vitor Pereira’s first home game in charge by moving out of the relegation zone. NEWCASTLE CRUSH VILLA Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Joelinton scored in Newcastle’s rout of 10-man Villa, climbing to fifth in the table with their third straight league win while Villa slip to ninth. Gordon curled Newcastle ahead early on and Villa striker Jhon Duran was red-carded in the 32nd minute after a stamp on Fabian Schar following a tackle. Newcastle doubled their lead in the 59th minute when Jacob Murphy squared the ball to Isak for a tap-in and Joelinton completed the rout in stoppage time. Jarrod Bowen scored the only goal as West Ham United beat bottom club Southampton 1-0 to move his side up to 13th in the table. An uninspired Bournemouth slipped to sixth after being held to goalless draw by Crystal Palace. Far-right streamer and influencer Nick Fuentes has been accused of battery after allegedly spraying a woman with pepper spray when she appeared at his front door in Illinois last month as his refrain “Your body, my choice” was going viral. Marla Rose, 57, told police that she went to record Fuentes’ home on Nov. 10 after she saw his controversial social media post and that he pepper-sprayed her, pushed her onto the concrete and broke her phone outside his Chicago-area home in Berwyn, Illinois. According to a police report, which was filed Nov. 11, the woman did not have any visible physical injuries but her eyes were “watery.” Fuentes was arrested late last month and released the same day. He is set to appear in court on Dec. 19. Fuentes did not respond to requests for comment Friday. He posted pictures Friday of his mugshots on X and wrote , “Free me n----”. Rose also took to social media, posting on Facebook : “It. Is. On. 🔥🔥🔥 PS — Civil case pending.” Rose could not be reached for comment Friday. Fuentes was doxxed and his address posted on social media after he went viral for an X post that has been viewed more than 99.6 million times since he posted it on Election Day , in which he wrote “Your body, my choice. Forever,” referring to abortion policies. He told police that since he “posted a political joke online,” he has faced death threats and “people showing up to his house unannounced” and had been “in fear for his life,” the report stated. Another woman who had driven by Fuentes’ house called police to report that she had seen a woman shoved by a man outside the home, according to the police report. Rose was still at the house when police arrived, but she and Fuentes were separated while they spoke to officers, the report stated. Police said Fuentes “became uncooperative” with the resource officer on scene and would not answer any additional questions about the alleged altercation with Rose, according to the report. After his Election Day post, Fuentes’ personal information began circulating online, with many on social media posting his address and pictures of his house, writing, “Your house, our choice.” In a now-deleted Facebook post, Rose had said that she was prompted to appear at Fuentes’ door given the views he shared online. In her post, she also disclosed Fuentes’ home address several times. This story first appeared on NBCNews.com . OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Fresh off one of its best showings of the season, the Baltimore defense now has another problem to worry about. Roquan Smith missed practice again Friday because of a hamstring injury. Although the Ravens didn't officially rule him or anyone else out — they don't play until Monday night — the All-Pro linebacker's status seems dicey. “Definitely it will be a challenge if Roquan can’t go,” defensive coordinator Zach Orr said. “We’re holding out hope and everything like that. I think it’ll just be by committee. Not one person is going to replace Roquan. Roquan’s an every-down linebacker.” Although the Ravens lost 18-16 last weekend, Baltimore didn't allow a touchdown. That was an encouraging sign for a team that ranks 26th in the league in total defense. Baltimore is on the road Monday against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Ravens appear to have dodged one potential nightmare. Star safety Kyle Hamilton injured an ankle against Cincinnati on Nov. 7, but he was able to play almost every defensive snap the following week against Pittsburgh. But Smith was injured in that game and didn't practice Thursday or Friday. Linebacker Malik Harrison had a season high in tackles last weekend and figures to have a significant role if Smith can't go. “We tell these guys, ‘You’re one play away to going in there — you never know, so you got to stay ready.’ Malik — he was ready,” Orr said. “I thought he went in there and did a good job, especially after the first series, he settled down. That’s what we expect from him.” It's hard to tell whether last week can be a significant turning point for Baltimore's defense. The Ravens allowed only 10 points in a dominant win over Buffalo in Week 4, then yielded 38 against Cincinnati the following game. After allowing 10 against Denver, the Ravens were picked apart by the Bengals again a few days later. So they still haven't shown they can play a good game defensively and then build on it. “I think it’s easier said than done. It’s something that we kind of got caught up saying against Buffalo and then coming up the next week and not doing," Hamilton said. "We’re aware of it now and know that we played a good game, but I think we can get a lot better, and I think that’s kind of the mindset everybody on defense has right now.” Hamilton's ability to make a difference all over the field is part of what makes him valuable, but positioning him deep is one way the Ravens can try to guard against big passing plays. Pittsburgh's Russell Wilson threw for only 205 yards against Baltimore. That's after Joe Burrow passed for 428 and four touchdowns in the Ravens' previous game. “I’ve always seen myself as a safety. A versatile one, but at the end of the day, I think I play safety,” Hamilton said. “If I’m asked to go play safety, I feel like that’s not an issue for me to play safety if I’m a safety.” NOTES: In addition to Smith, WR Rashod Bateman (knee), DT Travis Jones (ankle), S Sanoussi Kane (ankle) C Tyler Linderbaum (back) and CB Arthur Maulet (calf) missed practice Friday. WR Nelson Agholor (illness) returned to full participation after missing Thursday's practice. AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/NFLSocial media platform Threads , which is a part of Meta Platforms META is rolling out new search tools as it looks to compete with X and fast-growing competitor Bluesky . What Happened: Threads, which like Bluesky, has been trending and gaining new subscribers as people look for alternatives to Elon Musk's X platform. The Meta-owned company announced new search tools, which include the option to refine searches by a profile and date range. The update will roll out globally over the coming weeks, according to the company. "We're making it easier for you to search for specific posts here," the company said. While the new search tools still pale in comparison to ways to find posts on X, Threads can better compete with Bluesky, according to a report from TechCrunch. On Bluesky, users can search by user profiles and date ranges. Prior to the latest Threads update, the platform offered basic search functions like using a keyword and then narrowing results based on top results or recent results. Read Also: X Vs. Threads Vs. Bluesky: Does Elon Musk’s Social Media Site Still Reign Supreme? Why It's Important: In October, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Threads had around 275 million monthly users, averaging around one million signups daily. Bluesky has also seen strong growth in recent months with users looking for alternates to X since the 2024 election. Bluesky had around nine million users in October and has grown to around 24 million users, according to the report. Outside of the new search tools, Threads recently made changes that included users being able to choose their default feed. The focus on new features could show how serious Meta is about growing Threads and/or come as Bluesky is growing in the sector. "Engagement is growing too, so we continue to be on track towards this becoming our next major social app," Zuckerberg said in October of Threads. At the time, Meta Chief Financial Officer Susan Li also said there were plans to bring more features to Threads given the growth potential. “We’re very focused on continuing to build out the sort of functionality of Threads over time and being responsive to what users tell us that they’re interest in," Li said. META Price Action: Meta Platforms stock hit an all-time high of $614.20 Tuesday before closing up 3.51% to $613.65. The stock is up 77% year-to-date in 2024.
