Spurs: Trailing by 13 early in the third quarter, Wembanyama keyed a 16-4 run by showcasing his diverse offensive skills. Timberwolves: Minnesota survived a brutal shooting night from 3-point range, making just 11 of 44 attempts from beyond the arc. DiVincenzo was 5 for 10, but Edwards and Randle combined to go 1 for 16. With 4:44 to play and the game tied at 101, Randle made a driving layup against Wembanyama that was initially whistled for an offensive foul. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch challenged the call, and the basket was allowed to stand. Minnesota didn't trail the rest of the way. In the first quarter, the Timberwolves made just 1 of 11 3-point attempts but went 9 for 9 inside the arc. The Spurs host the Clippers, and the Timberwolves visit Oklahoma City on Tuesday. FRANCE EASED TO a 37-23 victory over an ill-disciplined Argentina at a bitterly cold Paris in their final game of the November internationals on Friday. Les Bleus claimed four tries including a superb solo effort from in-form winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey. Los Pumas had two players shown yellow cards in the first half, Julian Montoya and Juan Martin Gonzalez, which led to the hosts leading 30-9 at the break. France coach Fabien Galthie made four changes from last Saturday’s nerve-wracking one-point win over New Zealand as Charles Ollivon came in for the dropped Gregory Alldritt at No 8. Argentina boss Felipe Contepomi switched his scrum-half giving Gonzalo Garcia a start instead of Gonzalo Bertranou after last Friday’s loss to Ireland. Against the All Blacks, Les Bleus lost prop Tevita Tatafu to an early injury and loose-head Jean-Baptiste Gros suffered a similar fate after four minutes on Friday with a leg problem. Gros’s injury was caused by Argentina captain Montoya’s dangerous clean at a ruck and the hooker was shown a yellow card. Galthie’s side made the extra man count to open the scoring as Antoine Dupont fed lock Thibaud Flament to crash over from short range after a powerful rolling maul. Thomas Ramos slotted the easy conversion to make it 7-0 after 11 minutes. By the half hour mark the hosts lead 13-9 as Ramos traded penalty goals with Pumas fly-half Tomas Albornoz. France stretched their advantage to 20-9 as winger Gabin Villiere dived over following some dominant forward carries. Ramos added the conversion to overtake Dimitri Yachvili in third place on France’s scoring charts. Things worsened for Contepomi’s outfit as they conceded a penalty try with four minutes of the first half to play and had a second player sent to the bin. Flanker Gonzalez was shown a yellow card for palming a loose ball into touch after Dupont and Ramos showed their class with delicate chip kicks. France went into the break 30-9 ahead as Ramos slotted his third penalty of the game. Just after the interval Galthie brought 20-year-old back-rower Marko Gazzotti on for his debut. The flanker’s main intervention was to scramble onto a loose ball three metres from his own line before Les Bleus cleared with Argentina working their way back into the contest. With 24 minutes to play they were rewarded as prop Thomas Gallo benefitted from a rolling maul and Albornoz brought the score to 30-16. The Pumas’ comeback hopes were shortlived as Bielle-Biarrey scored his fourth try in three games, showing lightning speed to gather his own grubber kick. Ramos converted to make it 37-16 leaving the south Americans, fourth at last year’s World Cup, with a mountain to climb in the final quarter. The deficit was cut once again as Perpignan hooker Ignacio Ruiz, one of 10 French-based players in Argentina’s matchday squad, barreled over. Albornoz took the score to 37-23 with his two-pointer with nine minutes to play but it wasn’t enough to claim a first win over France in Paris since 2014.
Meta announced earlier this week that they will introduce "Instagram Teen Accounts". The company said that the accounts will be a "new experience for teens, guided by parents". LiveNOW from FOX host Christy Matino spoke to Vanessa Paz Dennen, Professor of Instructional Systems & Learning Technologies to break it all down. Nearly half of teens said they used social media or online platforms "almost constantly," according to a Pew Research survey. The most popular platforms were YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat. Facebook and X saw a steep decline in use among teens between 13 and 17 years old. LOS ANGELES - Teens are spending a good chunk of their time consuming online and social media content, according to a recent survey conducted by Pew Research. Nearly half of teens in the United States are online "almost constantly" despite concerns about the effects of social media and smartphones on their mental health , Pew said. RELATED: Teens turning to TikTok to self-diagnose mental health issues The teens who were surveyed said their most-used social media platforms included YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat. YouTube was the most popular platform as 9 in 10 teens reported using the site, which is slightly down from 2022 when Pew conducted this same survey. Overall, 73% of teens said they visited YouTube daily, and of those 73%, 15% described their use as "almost constant." TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat were also popular among teens with Instagram gaining slightly more popularity since 2022. Sixty-three percent of teens said they visited TikTok daily and of that 63%, 16% said they were on it constantly. Roughly half of teens said they went on Instagram and Snapchat every day with almost 13% of them using those two platforms almost constantly. The platforms that saw a steep decline in use were Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter). Across all five platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook) one-third of teens said they were using these sites constantly. RELATED: Half of US teens spend over 4 hours daily on screens, CDC study finds FILE - A teenager looks at a smartphone screen. (Photo by Matt Cardy/Getty Images) For better or worse, social media has become a medium for people – not just kids – to socialize, relieve stress and seek advice. But it has its dark side. It has become increasingly known that the more time people, especially young people, spend online, the higher the risk of developing mental health problems. Kids who use social media for more than three hours a day face double the risk of depression and anxiety, according to studies cited by U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, who issued an extraordinary public warning last spring about the risks of social media to young people. In June, Murthy called on Congress to require warning labels on social media platforms and their effects on young people’s lives, similar to those that are mandatory on cigarette boxes. "Social media today is like tobacco decades ago: It’s a product whose business model depends on addicting kids. And as with cigarettes, a surgeon general’s warning label is a critical step toward mitigating the threat to children," Josh Golin, executive director at Fairplay, an organization that is dedicated to ending marketing to children, said in a statement to The Associated Press in June. RELATED: Doomscrolling costs us 3 days a month, survey finds Social media and screens are everywhere and limiting how much young people consume it can be challenging. About half of teens report at least one sign of problematic social media use, as the American Psychological Association’s Chief Science Officer Dr. Mitch Prinstein, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, wrote in a Q&A on the APA’s website. (Prinstein also co-chaired the advisory panel.) These warning signs include being unable to stop even when they want to, lying in order to continue using social media, failing to keep up with daily routines, schoolwork or relationships, sleep disruptions and stunted activity levels, according to the APA. Experts suggest that before teens should even be allowed to use social media, they should go through a type of "training" for social media literacy. This training could help give young people the skills and knowledge to create a balance in their social media use. "Just as we require young people to be trained in order to get a driver’s license, our youth need instruction in the safe and healthy use of social media," said APA President Thema Bryant. This type of training could help teens think more critically about social media content and be less likely to buy into inaccuracies, generalizations and misinformation, per the advisory. It could also help them deal with online conflicts in a healthy way. Information for this article was gathered from a survey conducted by Pew Research from Sept. 18 to Oct. 10, 2024. The Associated Press and FOX News also contributed to this report. This story was reported from Los Angeles.

Incarnate Word linebacker Darius Sanders made his third interception in two games then Calzada launched a 43-yard pass to Jalen Walthall to tie it at 14 midway through the second quarter. Iowa moves on without injured quarterback Brendan Sullivan when the Hawkeyes visit Maryland for a Big Ten Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. Former starter Cade McNamara is not ready to return from a concussion, so Iowa (6-4, 4-3) turns to former walk-on and fourth-stringer Jackson Stratton to lead the offense in College Park, Md. "Confident that he'll do a great job," Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said of Stratton on his weekly radio show. "He stepped in, did a really nice job in our last ballgame. And he's got a good ability to throw the football, and he's learning every day. ... We'll go with him and see what we can do." Iowa had been on an upswing with Sullivan, who had sparked the Hawkeyes to convincing wins over Northwestern and Wisconsin before suffering an ankle injury in a 20-17 loss at UCLA on Nov. 8. Stratton came on in relief against the Bruins and completed 3 of 6 passes for 28 yards. Another storyline for Saturday is that Ferentz will be opposing his son, Brian Ferentz, an assistant at Maryland. Brian Ferentz was Iowa's offensive coordinator from 2017-23. "We've all got business to take care of on Saturday," Kirk Ferentz said. "I think his experience has been good and everything I know about it. As a parent, I'm glad he's with good people." Maryland (4-6, 1-6) needs a win to keep its hopes alive for a fourth straight bowl appearance under Mike Locksley. The Terrapins have dropped five of their last six games, all by at least 14 points, including a 31-17 loss at home to Rutgers last weekend. "It's been a challenging last few weeks to say the least," Locksley said. The challenge this week will be to stop Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson, who leads the Big Ten in rushing yards (1,328) and touchdowns (20), averaging 7.1 yards per carry. "With running backs, it's not always about speed. It's about power, vision and the ability to make something out of nothing," Locksley said. "This guy is a load and runs behind his pads." Maryland answers with quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., who leads the Big Ten in passing yards per game (285.5) and completions (268). His top target is Tai Felton, who leads the conference in catches (86) and receiving yards (1,040). --Field Level MediaA stroke changed a teacher’s life. The procedure comes at a time when Netanyahu is navigating significant challenges, including the ongoing war in Gaza and his corruption trial. Temporary Disruption to Netanyahu’s Corruption Trial Netanyahu’s surgery led to the postponement of his corruption trial. Judges agreed to his lawyer Amit Hadad’s request to cancel three days of scheduled testimony this week, citing the prime minister’s sedation and hospitalization. Dr. Ofer Gofrit, head of urology at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Medical Center, stated in a video message that the procedure was successful. “There was no fear of cancer or malignancy,” he assured, adding, “We only hope for the best.” In a public statement, Netanyahu thanked his medical team and noted that he was “fully alert.” He is currently recovering in a fortified underground unit equipped against missile attacks and will remain under observation for a few days. During the procedure, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, a close ally, served as acting prime minister. Netanyahu Prostate Condition: Common Among Older Men Netanyahu’s office revealed that his condition stemmed from a benign prostate enlargement, which had earlier caused a urinary tract infection. Although antibiotics had treated the infection, doctors determined surgery was necessary to prevent future complications. Dr. Shay Golan, head of the oncology urology service at Rabin Medical Center, explained to Army Radio that complications from prostate enlargement are common in men in their 70s and 80s. While not involved in Netanyahu’s care, he noted that an enlarged prostate can lead to urinary blockages, infections, and other issues. In cases like Netanyahu’s, where the condition is non-cancerous, doctors often opt for endoscopic surgery. This minimally invasive procedure uses small instruments inserted into the body, avoiding abdominal incisions. Recovery from the hour-long procedure is generally swift, with patients typically resuming normal activities after one to three days of catheter use. Netanyahu: A History of Health Challenges While Netanyahu projects an image of vitality—appearing in protective gear at war zones or meeting officials in rugged outdoor settings—his health record tells a more complex story. Last year, he was fitted with a pacemaker following a fainting spell and was later hospitalized for dehydration. Doctors disclosed that Netanyahu had long managed a heart condition causing irregular heartbeats, news that sparked public distrust during heightened political tensions. Earlier this year, Netanyahu underwent hernia surgery under full anesthesia, with Levin temporarily assuming leadership. Also Read: Will Yoon Suk Yeol Be Arrested in Martial Law Probe?
