A melee broke out at midfield of Ohio Stadium after Michigan upset No. 2 Ohio State 13-10 on Saturday. After the Wolverines' fourth straight win in the series, players converged at the block "O" to plant its flag. The Ohio State players were in the south end zone singing their alma mater in front of the student section. When the Buckeyes saw the Wolverines' flag, they rushed toward the 50-yard line. Social media posts showed Michigan offensive lineman Raheem Anderson carrying the flag on a long pole to midfield, where the Wolverines were met by dozens of Ohio State players and fights broke out. Buckeyes defensive end Jack Sawyer was seen ripping the flag off the pole and taking the flag as he scuffled with several people trying to recover the flag. A statement from the Ohio State Police Department read: "Following the game, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in breaking up an on-field altercation. During the scuffle, multiple officers representing Ohio and Michigan deployed pepper spray. OSUPD is the lead agency for games and will continue to investigate." Michigan running back Kalel Mullings on FOX said: "For such a great game, you hate to see stuff like that after the game. It's bad for the sport, bad for college football. At the end of the day, some people got to learn how to lose, man. "You can't be fighting and stuff just because you lost the game. We had 60 minutes and four quarters to do all that fighting. Now people want to talk and fight. That's wrong. It's bad for the game. Classless, in my opinion. People got to be better." Once order was restored, officers cordoned the 50-yard line, using bicycles as barriers. Ohio State coach Ryan Day in his postgame press conference said he wasn't sure what happened. "I don't know all the details of it. But I know that these guys are looking to put a flag on our field and our guys weren't going to let that happen," he said. "I'll find out exactly what happened, but this is our field and certainly we're embarrassed at the fact we lost the game, but there's some prideful guys on our team that weren't just going to let that happen." The Big Ten has not yet released a statement on the incident. --Field Level Media

DOHA : Lewis Hamilton said he knew he had 'still got it' despite qualifying sixth and nearly half a second slower than Mercedes team mate George Russell for Sunday's Qatar Grand Prix. The seven-times Formula One world champion, who will be 40 next year when he moves to Ferrari, had said after qualifying seventh for the sprint at Lusail on Friday that he was "definitely not fast any more". He repeated that verdict to reporters after the main qualifying session, with Russell on the front row, but in a slightly more positive way. "I know I've still got it," he said. "It's just the car won't go any faster, I definitely know I've got it. It's not a question in my mind. Looking forward to the end (of the season)." The most successful driver in the history of the sport with a record 105 wins has triumphed twice this season but Russell, second on the grid in Qatar behind four-times champion Max Verstappen, has out-qualified him 18-5. "I'm slow," said Hamilton. "About half a second off my team-mate in the same car. "It's been all year," he added, saying he did not know why that was. "It's not possible to change it right now." The season ends in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 8, with Hamilton contracted to Mercedes until the end of the year and facing sponsor commitments before he can start at Maranello.NonePHOENIX — If you're hitting the road ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, there is good news from Arizona Department of Transportation. RELATED: TSA expects another record-setting Thanksgiving weekend There are no planned freeway closures for the weekend of Nov. 22-25. There will be some restrictions that may cause slower traffic overnight. Southbound State Route 51 will be narrowed to one lane (left lanes closed) overnight in areas between Bell Road and Shea Boulevard from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday nights (Nov. 24-26) for pavement maintenance. TSA said Tuesday it projects it'll screen 18.3 million people in U.S. airports between Tuesday, Nov. 26, to Monday, Dec. 2, which would be a 6% jump from this time last year . TSA also projects Sunday, Dec. 1, could break its all-time record of screening more than 3 million people at security checkpoints nationwide. That record was set earlier this year on Sunday, July 7, though the agency has screened more than 2.9 million passengers on multiple occasions in 2024. Officials with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport encourage people to plan ahead if they are flying out for the holiday. Reserve your parking before your trip at skyharbor.com/parking . A brawl between Michigan and Ohio State players broke out Saturday afternoon, moments after the unranked Wolverines stunned No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio. Players from the Wolverines planted a Michigan flag at midfield and were accosted by Buckeyes players, who took issue with the gesture following their 13-10 defeat. In a video of the melee, Michigan players can be seen congregating over the “O” at midfield in Ohio Stadium, waving the flag and planting it. Players began shoving, swinging, tackling and restraining one another. Video from alternate angles shows coaches and authorities caught in the chaos, with some trying to intercede and at least one person falling to the ground. Multiple skirmishes broke out nearby. After the melee, Ohio State police said on social media that officers used pepper spray to try to break up the altercation. Some videos showed Michigan players crouching and squinting their eyes. Sports Illustrated reporter Pat Forde, who reported being hit himself, said players from both teams were affected. Later, Michigan players made another effort to plant their flag. Wolverines defensive end Derrick Moore led the way, but Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer grabbed the flag, ripped it off its pole and threw it to the ground, instigating another round of chasing and shoving. A reporter asked Ohio State Coach Ryan Day about the incident during the postgame news conference, noting that some Buckeyes staff members appeared to be “bloodied” in the skirmish. “I don’t know all the details of it, but I know these guys are looking to put a flag on our field and our guys weren’t going to let that happen,” Day said. The melee erupted as Fox reporter Jenny Taft interviewed Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham, before the broadcast cut away to focus on the fight. Later, Taft asked Wolverines running back Kalel Mullings to reflect on the episode. “You hate to see stuff like that after the game. It’s just bad for the sport, bad for college football,” Mullings said. “But at the end of the day, they got to learn how to lose, man. You can’t be fighting and stuff just because you lost the game. We had 60 minutes, we had four quarters to do all that fighting.”
