Berättarnätet Kronoberg
The Storytelling Network of Kronoberg (Berättarnätet Kronoberg) is a non-profit association that is politically and religiously unaffiliated. The organisation was established in 1990 in Sagobygden, which consists geographically of the three municipalities Ljungby, Alvesta and Älmhult.
Sagobygden hosts Sagobygdens Music and Storytelling Festival (the oldest recurring storytelling festival in the Nordics), forty-three legendary places with cabinets that tell a story, The Museum of Legends and a wide range of educational activities for all ages and at several levels.
The association aims to protect and highlight the oral storytelling tradition and to create networks for those interested in oral storytelling. Since 2014 the association is an accredited NGO to UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and, since 2018, it is inscribed at the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices.
