Senate President Cameron Henry, R-Metairie, said suspending $120 million in annual funding for the three projects is essentially meant to be a cushion for the broader tax package — which was put together based on estimates of future revenue. “We want to make sure that we have enough cushion, should one of the estimates be off too far one way or the other, that we’re able to address all the expenses in the state,” Henry said. “This is a solid reoccurring source of revenue that gives us a little flexibility for the next two years,” he said.
