Fellow actor Amit Sial echoed the sentiment, praising the state's hospitality during his 'Tikadam' shoot, and expressed interest in returning for future projects. Actress Shruti Pawar and Australian producer Anupam Sharma also commended the new film policy, with Sharma noting its potential to give Uttarakhand international exposure through projects like his upcoming biopic on singer Bobby Cash. Farmers in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, including from the Adivasi communities, are showing increasing interest in cultivating apples in the mandals of Kerameri, Wankidi, Tiryani, and Sirpur (U), thanks to the district’s favourable climate. Dubbed the "Kashmir of Telangana," the old Adilabad region experience cold weather during winter that supports the growth of apples. Apple trees require cold temperatures for sapling growth and flowering. Once flowering begins, it takes approximately 120 days for the apples to mature. Pruning typically starts in December, and the harvest begins in May. The first crop of apples in Dhanora village, Kerameri mandal, is notable for its sweetness and vibrant red colour, drawing significant attention. Minimum temperature in the region drops to 3oC in December and remains below 6oC for many nights until February. In December 2017, Kerameri recorded 2.5oC. A scientist from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) stated that the weather and soil in Kerameri mandal are well-suited for apple farming. The area's natural features, including hillocks, forests, and perennial streams, further enhance its potential. Farmers are eager to explore apple cultivation if the state government provides support, including the free distribution of saplings. Currently, apple saplings, costing around ₹300 each, are sourced from Kashmir. Some progressive farmers already succeeded in growing apple orchards. A farmer belonging to the backward community in Dhanora, Kendre Balaji, was recognised with the Farm Innovation Award by the ICAR-Agriculture Technology Application Research Institute, Hyderabad, in 2018. Balaji first planted 10 apple saplings in 2014, purchasing them for ₹50 each through an friend who was in the Army. The plants have now reached the flowering stage. Balaji shared that CCMB scientists Veerabadhrarao and Ramesh Agarwal tested the soil in his fields and confirmed its suitability for apple cultivation. Since 2015, Balaji has planted 450 hybrid Hariman-99 apple trees, provided free of cost by CCMB, Hyderabad. The institute distributed a total of 4,000 apple saplings to interested farmers in the region. However, Balaji noted that apple plants' growth is hindered when intercropped with other plants. While he has harvested apples weighing around 150 grams, the ideal weight for commercial sale is approximately 200 grams. An Adivasi farmer from Dhanora named Sidam Mahadu has cultivated 50 apple plants. Mahadu stated that many farmers are now willing to raise apple orchards if the government supplies free saplings and provides technical support.

Muscat : The Shura Council today held its 3rd regular session of the 10th Term’s 2nd annual convening, during which it discussed the topic of "temporary employment initiatives" with Dr. Mahad Said Ba'owain, Minister of Labour. Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, said in a speech that “visions and proposals presented about temporary employment initiatives are in line with the national goals” and that these visions seek to unify the efforts made to achieve the public interest. For his part, the Minister of Labour said in a statement that the session saw in-depth discussions about vital aspects that pertain to the national development and to the Omani citizens’ aspirations. The minister pointed out that the session focused on three main topics: The “Employment Contracts Initiative”, the “One Million Hours Initiative” and the “Sahim Programme”. Dr. Mahad pointed out that the initiatives “constitute strategic programmes to enhance the efficiency of the national workforce, contribute to the empowerment of Omani youth and enhance their chances to enter the labour market with greater competitiveness”. He added that the meeting offered an opportunity to underline shared visions and deep understanding about the requirements of the labour sector. The minister explained that the session highlighted the participants’ awareness about the national priorities and their keenness to formulate approaches that contribute to sustainable growth, economic development and social stability. The session was held in accordance with Article 68 of the Council of Oman Law, and Article 56 of the Shura Council Law, which stipulates that the Shura Council may exercise its jurisdiction to follow up public issues and use its mandates to host officials for elaboration on matters of public interest. As part of discussions on the “Temporary Employment Initiatives”, the session dealt with the outcome of implementation of all types of temporary employment contracts (in the government sector) and the Ministry’s plans to develop them. The session also discussed the outcome of implementation of employment contracts in the private sector, the challenges posed to the Ministry, the future of existing and temporary employment contracts and the Labour Ministry’s plan to deal with them within the stipulations of the current Labour Law. The session studied the ministry’s vision about the legal and administrative frameworks of temporary employment contracts in view of the fluctuating labour market economics. The session also discussed the requirements of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) and the Ministry’s follow-up of the positive and negative impact of implementation of temporary employment initiatives, notably the impacts on the work environment and on the national workforce (in the public and private sectors).US agencies should use technology to identify mysterious drones, Schumer saysBruce Gonyea Announces The Release Of His New Book: The Tavern Files
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has threatened to sue his Tory counterpart Kemi Badenoch if she fails to apologise for accusing the populist party of faking numbers that show Reform surpassed the Conservatives in paid members. The war of words broke out after Reform UK claimed on Boxing Day that it now has more members than the Tories. Using a live online ticker, the upstart party tracked the moment it had surpassed the latest declared membership numbers from the centuries-old Conservative Party. After Reform passed the threshold of 131,680 members (the latest account of membership released by the Tories in November), recently-installed Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch accused the party of using an automated online ticker rather than reflecting actual sign-ups. “Manipulating your own supporters at Xmas eh, Nigel?. It’s not real. It’s a fake... [the website has been] coded to tick up automatically,” she wrote on X. Badenoch also claimed that the Tories had “gained thousands of new members” after she was selected as leader in November. However, the party has yet to release such figures to the public. Following the accusation of faking its membership tally, Reform opened its books on the independent Nation Builder platform, which tracks political party membership, to several British media outlets, including Sky News. The broadcaster reported that it “was able to verify that the number of memberships in Reform’s NationBuilder account matched the number presented on their on-site ticker.” Mr Farage has branded Badenoch “disgraceful” for the accusations and demanded that she apologise for the “intemperate outburst.” When asked if he planned on suing the Conservative leader for libel, the Reform leader said: “I’m going to take some action in the next couple of days. I’ve got to decide exactly what it is, but I’m certainly not going to take it lying down.” “I think it’s an absolutely outrageous thing for her to have said... know she’s got a very bad temper. I know she’s well known for lashing out at people, but I am not at all happy, and I’m going to take some action.” After Reform surpassed the latest Tory figures, Mr Farage hailed the achievement as a “ historic moment ,” saying: “The youngest political party in British politics has just overtaken the oldest political party in the world.” “Reform UK are now the real opposition,” he declared. While the so-called Conservatives continue to reel from their devastating election defeat in July and the fledgling left-wing Labour government continues to haemorrhage support, Reform has steadily risen in the ranks. Despite only returning to frontline politics in June, Farage is now the odds-on favourite to become the next UK prime minister, according to betting agency Ladbrokes, demonstrating the degree to which the political sands are shifting in Britain.
By FARNOUSH AMIRI, Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Rep. Matt Gaetz said Friday that he will not be returning to Congress after withdrawing his name from consideration to be attorney general under President-elect Donald Trump amid growing allegations of sexual misconduct. “I’m still going to be in the fight, but it’s going to be from a new perch. I do not intend to join the 119th Congress,” Gaetz told conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, adding that he has “some other goals in life that I’m eager to pursue with my wife and my family.” Related Articles The announcement comes a day after Gaetz, a Florida Republican, stepped aside from the Cabinet nomination process amid growing fallout from federal and House Ethics investigations that cast doubt on his ability to be confirmed as the nation’s chief federal law enforcement officer. The 42-year-old has vehemently denied the allegations against him. Gaetz’s nomination as attorney general had stunned many career lawyers inside the Justice Department, but reflected Trump’s desire to place a loyalist in a department he has marked for retribution following the criminal cases against him. Hours after Gaetz withdrew, Trump nominated Pam Bondi, the former Florida attorney general, who would come to the job with years of legal work under her belt and that other trait Trump prizes above all: loyalty. It’s unclear what’s next for Gaetz, who is no longer a member of the House. He surprised colleagues by resigning from Congress the same day that Trump nominated him for attorney general. Some speculated he could still be sworn into office for another two-year term on Jan. 3, given that he had just won reelection earlier this month. But Gaetz, who has been in state and national politics for 14 years, said he’s done with Congress. “I think that eight years is probably enough time in the United States Congress,” he said.

Abortion has become slightly more common despite bans or deep restrictions in most Republican-controlled states, and the legal and political fights over its future are not over yet. It's now been two and a half years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and opened the door for states to implement bans. The policies and their impact have been in flux ever since the ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. Here's a look at data on where things stand: Overturning Roe and enforcing abortion bans has changed how woman obtain abortions in the U.S. But one thing it hasn't done is put a dent in the number of abortions being obtained. There have been slightly more monthly abortions across the country recently than there were in the months leading up to the June 2022 ruling, even as the number in states with bans dropped to near zero. “Abortion bans don’t actually prevent abortions from happening,” said Ushma Upadhyay, a public health social scientist at the University of California San Francisco. But, she said, they do change care. For women in some states, there are major obstacles to getting abortions — and advocates say that low-income, minority and immigrant women are least likely to be able to get them when they want. For those living in states with bans, the ways to access abortion are through travel or abortion pills. As the bans swept in, abortion pills became a bigger part of the equation. They were involved in about half the abortions before Dobbs. More recently, it’s been closer to two-thirds of them, according to research by the Guttmacher Institute. The uptick of that kind of abortion, usually involving a combination of two drugs, was underway before the ruling. But now, it's become more common for pill prescriptions to be made by telehealth. By the summer of 2024, about 1 in 10 abortions was via pills prescribed via telehealth to patients in states where abortion is banned. As a result, the pills are now at the center of battles over abortion access. This month, Texas sued a New York doctor for prescribing pills to a Texas woman via telemedicine. There's also an effort by Idaho, Kansas and Missouri to roll back their federal approvals and treat them as “controlled dangerous substances,” and a push for the federal government to start enforcing a 19th-century federal law to ban mailing them. Clinics have closed or halted abortions in states with bans. But a network of efforts to get women seeking abortions to places where they're legal has strengthened and travel for abortion is now common. The Guttmacher Institute found that more than twice as many Texas residents obtained abortion in 2023 in New Mexico as New Mexico residents did. And as many Texans received them in Kansas as Kansans. Abortion funds, which benefitted from “rage giving” in 2022, have helped pay the costs for many abortion-seekers. But some funds have had to cap how much they can give . Since the downfall of Roe, the actions of lawmakers and courts have kept shifting where abortion is legal and under what conditions. Here's where it stands now: Florida, the nation’s third most-populous state, began enforcing a ban on abortions after the first six weeks of pregnancy on May 1. That immediately changed the state from one that was a refuge for other Southerners seeking abortion to an exporter of people looking for them. There were about 30% fewer abortions there in May compared with the average for the first three months of the year. And in June, there were 35% fewer. While the ban is not unique, the impact is especially large. The average driving time from Florida to a facility in North Carolina where abortion is available for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy is more than nine hours, according to data maintained by Caitlin Myers, a Middlebury College economics professor. The bans have meant clinics closed or stopped offering abortions in some states. But some states where abortion remains legal until viability – generally considered to be sometime past 21 weeks of pregnancy , though there’s no fixed time for it – have seen clinics open and expand . Illinois, Kansas and New Mexico are among the states with new clinics. There were 799 publicly identifiable abortion providers in the U.S. in May 2022, the month before the Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade. And by this November, it was 792, according to a tally by Myers, who is collecting data on abortion providers. But Myers says some hospitals that always provided some abortions have begun advertising it. So they’re now in the count of clinics – even though they might provide few of them. How hospitals handle pregnancy complications , especially those that threaten the lives of the women, has emerged as a major issue since Roe was overturned. President Joe Biden's administration says hospitals must offer abortions when they're needed to prevent organ loss, hemorrhage or deadly infections, even in states with bans. Texas is challenging the administration’s policy and the U.S. Supreme Court this year declined to take it up after the Biden administration sued Idaho. More than 100 pregnant women seeking help in emergency rooms and were turned away or left unstable since 2022, The Associated Press found in an analysis of federal hospital investigative records. Among the complaints were a woman who miscarried in the lobby restroom of Texas emergency room after staff refused to see her and a woman who gave birth in a car after a North Carolina hospital couldn't offer an ultrasound. The baby later died. “It is increasingly less safe to be pregnant and seeking emergency care in an emergency department,” Dara Kass, an emergency medicine doctor and former U.S. Health and Human Services official told the AP earlier this year. Since Roe was overturned, there have been 18 reproductive rights-related statewide ballot questions. Abortion rights advocates have prevailed on 14 of them and lost on four. In the 2024 election , they amended the constitutions in five states to add the right to abortion. Such measures failed in three states: In Florida, where it required 60% support; in Nebraska, which had competing abortion ballot measures; and in South Dakota, where most national abortion rights groups did support the measure. AP VoteCast data found that more than three-fifths of voters in 2024 supported abortion being legal in all or most cases – a slight uptick from 2020. The support came even as voters supported Republicans to control the White House and both houses of Congress. Associated Press writers Linley Sanders, Amanda Seitz and Laura Ungar contributed to this article.Winter chill sparks a surge in heating appliance sales
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Even when Penn State quarterback Drew Allar gets some praise, it's usually a backhanded compliment. They say he's a good game manager and stays within himself, or that he doesn't try to do too much. They mention he might not be flashy, but he gives the team a chance to win. And here's the thing about Penn State since Allar stepped under center: The Nittany Lions have won games. A lot of them. Sometimes that's hard to remember considering the lukewarm reception he often gets from fans. "I get it — we have a really passionate fan base and they're a huge part of our success," Allar said Sunday at College Football Playoff quarterfinals media day. "For us, we always want to go out there every drive and end with a touchdown, so when we don't do that, there's nobody more frustrated than us." The polarizing Allar is having a solid season by just about any standard, completing more than 68% of his passes for 3,021 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading the sixth-seeded Nittany Lions to a 12-2 record and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl for Tuesday's game against No. 3 seed Boise State. But in a college football world filled with high-scoring, explosive offenses, Allar's no-frills performances often are the object of ire. The Penn State offense is a run-first bunch, led by the talented combo of Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen. "If we had a nickel for every time there was a Monday morning quarterback saying some BS stuff, we'd all be pretty rich," offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki said. "I think part of being a quarterback, especially at Penn State but really anywhere, is how you respond to and manage criticism." The 20-year-old Allar has made strides in that department after a trying 2023 season that finished with a 10-3 record. He says that's largely because once fall camp started back in August, he logged off the social media platform X. Allar said negative online experiences wore on him last year, and his phone number was leaked a few times, which added to the stress. He finally realized that controlling outside narratives was impossible, so the best course of action was to eliminate a needless distraction. "I've been more mentally free, as much as that sounds crazy," Allar said. "I think that's been a huge difference for me this year." The biggest criticism of Allar — and really Penn State as a whole during the 11-year James Franklin era — is that he isn't capable of winning the big games. He's 0-2 against rival Ohio State and threw a late interception against Oregon in the Big Ten title game earlier this month, which sealed the Ducks' 45-37 victory. He wasn't great in the CFP's first round, either, completing just 13 of 22 passes for 127 yards as Penn State muscled past SMU 38-10 on a cold, blustery day to advance to the Fiesta Bowl. But the quarterback is confident a better performance — aided by a game that will be played in comfortable temperatures in a domed stadium — is coming. "For me, I just have to execute those (easy) throws early in the game and get our guys into rhythm," Allar said. "Get them involved early as much as I can and that allows us to stay on the field longer, call more plays and open up our offense more. That will help us a ton, building the momentum throughout the game." Allar might be a favorite punching bag for a section of the Penn State fan base, but that's not the case in his own locker room. Star tight end Tyler Warren praised his quarterback's ability to avoid sacks, saying that the 6-foot-5, 238-pounder brings a toughness that resonates with teammates. "He's a football player," Warren said. "He plays quarterback, but when you watch him play and the energy he brings and the way he runs the ball, he's just a football player and that fires up our offense." Now Allar and Penn State have a chance to silence critics who say that the Nittany Lions don't show up in big games. Not that he's worried about what other people think. "I think it's a skill at the end of the day — blocking out the outside noise," Allar said. "Focusing on you and the process and being honest with yourself, both good and bad." But we'll get to all of that. Relax, grab a mug or glass of something, and read on. Though and dominate the market in 2024, slightly more niche platforms such as and cater to specialized needs, such as high-resolution audio, specific sub-genres or even (whisper it) actual human advice, and relative newcomers and have their own offerings too. After extensive testing, we're going to break down the leading options, highlight key features, explore pricing tiers and evaluate extras that could sway your decision. Go ahead and (right in...) Each music streaming platform has its own unique strengths – and these might make choosing which is right for you all the easier. is the standout one-size-fits-all option, thanks to its robust free tier and exceptional personalization features like , Discover Weekly, and year-end . Additionally, platforms like and Idagio cater to more specialized audiences, (people who know what they want, want it in hi-res, and can live without the social media stuff) providing high-resolution audio and a focus on classical music respectively. First up, library size and content variety are essential. Most major services boast catalogs of 80 to 100 million songs, but the availability of niche genres, podcasts (and increasingly video podcasts), live albums and other exclusive content can vary, and might make a difference. Sound quality is another crucial factor, especially if you’re an audiophile who enjoys the slightest background 'oooh' from Mick Jagger in . While most services provide standard streaming quality, platforms like Tidal and Qobuz stand out with high-resolution audio options. There have been long-term rumours of Spotify adding a HiFi service – and CEO Daniel Ek even confirmed a "deluxe" version was set to launch at some point – but so far we haven't seen it. Personalization and curated playlists can enhance your experience by helping you discover new music. Spotify is renowned for its algorithm-driven recommendations, while Apple Music emphasizes human-curated playlists from experts like DJs and artists. Device compatibility is also vital – your preferred service should work seamlessly across smartphones, smart speakers, gaming consoles and more. If you have an iPhone, Apple Music naturally integrates deeply, while Spotify works well more broadly. Offline listening is a must-have feature for travelers, and social features like playlist sharing and music discovery through friends add a layer of interactivity, with Spotify leading the charge. Pricing could be a significant factor when choosing a music streaming service. For those looking to save, Spotify and YouTube Music offer free ad-supported tiers, though these come with limitations such as lower audio quality and no offline listening. Premium plans now typically start at £9.99 or $9.99 per month, providing ad-free listening, offline downloads, and enhanced sound quality, although many services have raised prices in recent years due to inflation. Audiophile services including Tidal, Apple Music and Qobuz charge more for high-resolution audio (there's no free Apple Music tier – and the service ), but their offerings justify the extra cost for those who prioritise sound. Family plans are an excellent choice for households, offering multiple profiles for around £15 or $15 per month. Students can often enjoy discounted rates, with some services providing up to 50% off. (Here's , if you wanted that...) Bundles are also worth checking out: Amazon Music Unlimited is cheaper for Prime members, and Apple Music can be included in the Apple One subscription bundle. Many services offer free trials lasting one, three or even six months, making it easy to explore features before committing, and there may well be deals around during the holiday season. Beyond obvious differences such as price and device compatibility, there are several other things to consider. Exclusive content is a significant draw for some users. Spotify leads the way with its popular podcasts and artist exclusives, while Apple Music offers live radio and unique releases. Smaller platforms can also sometimes offer exclusive content. Podcasts and video content are increasingly important for modern streaming services. Spotify integrates podcasts seamlessly, while YouTube Music shines with its blend of video and audio. Some platforms also cater to niche audiences, such as Idagio for classical music enthusiasts or Bandcamp for those who prefer supporting independent artists by buying (and streaming) music directly. User experience is another factor. A clean interface, intuitive navigation and reliable search functionality can significantly enhance your enjoyment of the service and make discovering new music easier. Put Taylor down, you don't need to listen to her . Ultimately, the best music streaming service depends on your personal priorities and preferences, principally among them what content you want to listen to. If you value personalized playlists and social features, Spotify remains a top choice. Apple Music is a natural fit for users in the Apple ecosystem, offering high-quality audio and excellent device integration. Audiophiles might gravitate toward Tidal or Qobuz for their superior sound quality, while budget-conscious listeners might prefer Amazon Music Unlimited or YouTube Music for their affordability and unique offerings. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. The ideal service for you will depend on your sound quality needs, content preferences, and budget. Do you have one of the that supports AirPlay? That's an Apple Music thing; it works using your wi-fi to give you better quality audio. It's worth checking the spec sheet of the speaker (or speakers) you have, to better understand what might work best for you. Or, if you've just signed up for Apple Music and want to really make your playlists sing (any Bluetooth speaker will play files from your service over Bluetooth, but your home wi-fi offers better bandwidth and thus, improved audio) our guide to the is the place to head. Free trials are an excellent way to explore your options and find the platform that resonates most with your listening habits. Spotify is the biggest service around, but there are plenty of reasons to pick another option – including hi-res audio and spatial audio content, as well as wireless speakers that support AirPlay or Tidal connect, say. Happy discovering!

Universal has revealed that Christopher Nolan’s next film will adapt the Greek epic The Odyssey as an “action epic.” Universal Pictures announced on Twitter on Monday that Nolan’s next film, his first since Oppenheimer , will adapt the classic story attributed to Homer as a “mythic action epic.” The studio wrote: “Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.” The film is set to star Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Robert Pattinson, with a production start date set for early 2025 and a July 17th, 2026 release date set. It is not yet known which role each of the actors will play. The Odyssey is one of the most famous Greek epics and tells the story of Odysseus as he attempts to journey home after the Trojan War. Along the way, Odysseus and his crew encounter a number of mythical creatures including the Cyclops, Sirens, the sorceress Circe, the monster Scylla and the whirlpool Charybdis, and many other obstacles during the 10-year journey. The poem is one of the oldest works of literature still widely read by modern audiences. Oppenheimer was Nolan’s first film under his deal with Universal and was a massive critical and commercial hit with $976.8 million worldwide and seven Academy Award wins including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), and Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr).
By LINDSEY BAHR Christopher Nolan is following his Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer” with a true epic: Homer’s “The Odyssey.” It will open in theaters on July 17, 2026, Universal Pictures said Monday. Nolan has been an IMAX enthusiast for years, going back to “The Dark Knight,” and has made his last three films exclusively using large format film and the highest resolution film cameras. For “Oppenheimer,” the first black-and-white IMAX film stock was developed. Nolan hasn’t said specifically what the new technology for “The Odyssey” will be, but earlier this month he told The Associated Press that they’re in an intensive testing phase with IMAX to prepare for the new production. “They have an incredible engineering staff, really brilliant minds doing extraordinary work,” Nolan said. “It’s wonderful to see innovation in the celluloid film arena still happening and happening at the highest level possible.” “The Odyssey” will be Nolan’s second collaboration with Universal Pictures following “Oppenheimer,” which earned nearly $1 billion at the box office and won the filmmaker his first Oscars, including for best director and best picture . Rumors about his next project have been swirling ever since, with near-daily speculations about plot — none of which turned out to be true — and casting. While there are many reports about actors joining the ensemble, none has been officially confirmed by the studio.$100 Invested In Vistra 5 Years Ago Would Be Worth This Much TodayThe Ohtani family’s roster is going to be a little bigger. Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, are expecting their first child together, he shared on his Instagram account Saturday. “Can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!” Ohtani wrote in the caption of his post, which included an image of a covered-up sonogram, a salmon-colored onesie, baby shoes and their beloved dog, Decoy. It has been a whirlwind year-plus for Ohtani, who signed a 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers last December after winning two MVP awards with the Angels. In February, on the eve of the baseball season, Ohtani announced he got married in the offseason . “To all my friends and fans throughout, I have an announcement to make: Not only have I began a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers but I also have began a new life with someone from my Native country of Japan who is very special to me and I wanted everyone to know I am now married,” Ohtani wrote on social media then. It was revealed later that he had tied the knot with Tanaka , a former professional basketball player. On the field, Ohtani’s first season with the Dodgers couldn’t have gone much better as he claimed his third MVP award — and first in the National League — after becoming the first player in MLB history to join the 50-50 club with 50 homers and 50 steals . He capped it off with his first World Series win when his Dodgers beat the Yankees in five games.
